It is not the instructions we obey out of fear of the consequences that will follow if we fail to obey that will stand us out. It is rather the instructions we obey because we have understood it's place in the long scheme of our lives that will establish and stand us out. Remember all the times you were threatened to do a thing or the other, what happened the moments those threats or enforcers were out of your way? You reverted to status quo right? That's what it will always be until you see that those instructions are in your best interest, you will continue to make excuses and struggle to obey them. Toddlers are not left out in this human behavior. If you relate with them from the place of I am right and you are; I am big and you are small, I am strong and you are weak kinda air in dealing with them. It will only be a matter of time before they show you how fast they can get rid of your directions because you were not really directing them in the first place. You were rather commanding and have a field day with your emotional outbursts here and there. Are you still at loss with what to do with your children 3 years and below to best prepare them for the years ahead? Join the Early Years Parent Coaching program starting off in September and will run till December 2024 for as low as #20,000 (ie 5k per month) for daily guides on how to lay the right structures, habits, and effectively prepare yourself and your little ones for the years to come. There will also be an end of the month webinar exclusively for registered participants. You will also be in a supportive community of other parents whose children are in the same age bracket. You will have direct access to me for personalized guidance to navigate your parenting challenges in the early years. And lots more. Now you will agree that all of the above for only 5k per month (paid in a bulk of #20,000 for 4 months) is a real cheat. To come onboard this amazing community, pay #20,000 only into the Zenith Bank account of The Expectant Parent Academy using 1311250658 and forward your proof of payment on WhatsApp to 08133863236. The job of a parent is not an easy one but it can be made enjoying in the process through being in communities such as the Early Years Parent Coaching program. Let's build meaningful communities to win the collective wars against families and children. See you in class. #chiomaokoli #theexpectantparentacademy #pregnancycoach #earlyyearsparentcoach

Empowering Educators and Parents Alike: Insights from “The Parenting Map” In both parenting and education, small shifts can lead to profound changes. This summer, I delved into “The Parenting Map,” and it left a lasting impact on how I approach my roles as both a principal and a parent. Key Takeaways: • Give Children Freedom: Ensure that children have voice, choice, and agency in everything they do. Empower them to make decisions about their future, whether it’s about education, career, or daily choices. • Avoid Labeling: In both schools and homes, it’s easy to label children—“lazy,” “smart,” etc. Instead, focus on behaviors and provide opportunities for growth, allowing children to define themselves. • Connect with Empathy: Strong connections with children and parents are crucial. Use language that expresses feelings without blame, fostering understanding and collaboration. • Foster Empathy: Show empathy continuously, offering choices and multiple chances for children to learn and grow. From My Perspective as a Principal: Teachers, it’s essential to avoid discussing children in the staff room. While challenging students are part of our daily life, confide in just one trusted colleague rather than sharing with many. Speaking about a child, whether positively or negatively, can unfairly influence their reputation and create biases. Let’s allow children to define themselves by their actions, not by what others say. From My Perspective as a Parent: Daily meditation has been a powerful tool for me in managing challenges with my children. It creates the mental space needed to respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively. If you’re interested in recommendations or tips, feel free to reach out—I’m happy to share what has worked for me. As we start the new school year, I encourage both teachers and parents to reflect on these principles. What can you do to give your child or student more voice and choice? How can you connect with them meaningfully and avoid labeling? Let’s create environments where every child thrives. What are your thoughts on these approaches? Let’s start a conversation! If you’re interested in more tips on mindfulness or educational leadership, feel free to connect with me. Disclaimer: All of these ideas are my own. I use ChatGPT pro voice memo to help me dictate these blog or mini posts. #IBPYP #ICSParis #Teaching2Fish #EmpathyInEducation #ParentingAndTeaching #ChildDevelopment #PositiveParenting #EducationalLeadership #TeacherWellbeing #MindfulParenting

Transformational Parenting: A "School for Parents" 🎒 With the back-to-school season approaching, it's the perfect time to talk about transformational parenting. Indeed, there aren't really any courses or certification programs that prepare parents for daily challenges. What if we imagined a true "school for parents"? 🤔 🌍 I dream of a world where every parent has access to tailored programs to better understand what a conscious family looks like and get practical advice on how to achieve it. Imagine having excellent resources and ideas at your disposal! 🌟 I am convinced that personal development is a valuable tool for this. This concept, which we can call "transformational parenting," could very well be our "school for parents." By enriching our own view of parenting and learning about ourselves, we become better parents, able to guide our children towards a balanced and fulfilling future. 🌱 Being a "good parent" in the modern world isn't just about natural instinct; it’s a skill that can be learned and improved. 💡 The research and tools available today can bring about enormous positive change in our children’s lives. As parents, we need to prepare them to become independent thinkers, capable of navigating a world overloaded with information. 🧠 Emotional intelligence is at the heart of transformational parenting. It involves understanding that parenting concerns not only the child in front of us but also the one inside us. Learning to master our own emotions is essential for making better decisions in life. 💪 By raising resilient children, we teach them strategies to manage stress and self-control, while recognizing the importance of play as a learning tool. 🧩 Play is not just entertainment; it’s a serious way to develop essential skills in children. Parenting is a collective effort. Teachers, educators, and anyone in a supportive role, including family members, must get involved to provide children with the tools they need to grow. 👨👩👧👦 Every parent has a responsibility to continually educate themselves, seeking the information needed to thrive and face today’s educational challenges. I hope these insights help you make positive changes in your family and the world. 🌟 #Parenting #PositiveEducation #EmotionalIntelligence #PersonalDevelopment #ResilientChildren #ConsciousFamily #BackToSchool T.DRIEF © 2024

I honestly feel bad for parents who feel that they can do parenting alone, especially when raising teens. No ma, you need partners biko. You have your place as a parent and mentors/coaches have theirs. Engage them for a smooth ride. After speaking with a parent this morning who sought guidance on handling a specific issue with her daughter, I thought to myself: Parents need to realize that just as they seek help in challenging moments, they also need partners in their parenting journey—whether they are raising toddlers or teens. Did you know that sometimes, as a parent, you are too close to the situation to see things clearly? A mentor can offer fresh, unbiased perspectives on what your teen is going through. About two weeks ago, after a clarity call with a parent concerned about her daughter’s low self-esteem and her failed attempts to help, I listened patiently. Afterward, I assessed the situation and asked her a few questions along the way. At the end of the call, there was silence—Chai!—she was quiet for a moment before saying, “How come I didn’t know this all along?” "How can I sign her up for your mentor?", came the regular question. The blessing of a mentor is that they can bridge gaps in communication between parents and teens, helping both sides understand each other better. Imagine a teen who feels misunderstood because their parents want them to follow a particular career path. A mentor could help the teen express their desires more clearly, while also helping the parents understand the teen's point of view, reducing friction. Mentors are not your competitors. They are your partners. Having a mentor reinforces the values and principles you’re teaching at home. Sometimes, HEARING THE SAME MESSAGE FROM THE DIFFERENT SOURCE HELPS IT STICK BETTER. Mentors can echo lessons about responsibility, self-discipline, and integrity, giving your teen more confidence in those values. Mentors can provide targeted advice that might be outside your area of expertise. Like coach Wendy will say, your bedroom is too small to raise a king. Expose them to the right positive influence that will partner with you in helping them through their teenager journey. I will be announcing our 2025 mentorship program soon. It will be the best thing that will happen to your preteen and teen. Keep an eye here. #P&Tshow #GlobalTeenCoach

I have been active on LinkedIn for quite some time but there are so many people who’ve joined me recently. So I thought why not do a reintroduction, so you can know who are you seeing in your feed. How can we truly “connect” if we don’t know each other, right? So here’s a bit about me. I have experience of over a decade in the education sector in various roles, such as positive parenting coach, children's author, and education technology consultant. ✅ As a Positive Parenting Coach- I run a platform known as The Parent Academy which is dedicated to providing valuable resources and online courses on positive parenting for busy and stressed parents. I am a parent myself so I know a fair bit about real struggles and hurdles that comes with nurturing children, and through countless training sessions for educators, parents and children I’ve helped transform the challenges of parenting into a rewarding, harmonious and even enjoyable experience. ✅ As an Education Consultant- As an Education Consultant, I enable schools to adopt personalized learning programs to ensure that every child learns with engagement, purpose and enjoyment. Over the last 12 years, I have worked with hundreds of schools in India, UK, Europe, East Asia and Middle East to adopt personalized mathematics technology consciously in classrooms and beyond. In fact, this experience was just so right because I got to work very closely with children, schools, parents, and educators and that helped me in my parenting coaching journey as well. ✅ As a Children’s Author- I have authored 5 books for children to subtly communicate important, relevant, and thought-provoking concepts to kids without preaching to them. In addition to that 🔹 I have a WhatsApp community of 350+ parents who love to interact with each other and share their parenting challenges and find comfort, guidance and solutions 🔹 I run the Parenting Truth and Dare Podcast with 79 episodes live as I write this. 🔹 I have especially designed a course for parents which I am about to launch this month. This course will offer practical advice, evidence-based strategies, and invaluable insights to help you navigate the complexities of parenthood with confidence and grace. My vision is to offer a framework for overall family wellness so that the parenting experience becomes fun for you, and growing up becomes enjoyable for your child. Now that you know about me and my work, why not share about you as well? Feel free to tell me about you in the comments below. Here to make more valuable connections and conversations. Parenting Coach | Empowering parents to create strong, positive relationships with their children | Helped 3000+ Parents Create HAPPY HOMES
From working as the Founder Principal of a CBSE K-12 School for 16 years to serving 3000+ parents as a parenting coach. 5 Things I Learned over the Years as a Parenting Coach: 1. The Value of Continuous Self-Reflection and Learning Being a parenting coach taught me the importance of thinking about my ideas on parenting. It's crucial to be open to new ways of thinking and to keep learning to help families better. 2. Families are Unique Working closely with families showed me that every family is different. There's no one-size-fits-all solution for parenting. Understanding each family's unique situation is essential to help them well. 3. The Transformative Power of Empathy and Compassion Building trust and understanding with families requires empathetic listening and a non-judgmental attitude. Once that trust is established, it becomes more impactful to help parents through the challenges of parenting. Everyone loves to be understood and parents are no exception to this. 4. Self-care is essential Helping families can be challenging emotionally, so I learned the importance of setting limits and caring for myself. This allowed me to prevent getting too tired or stressed out. Same way the parents who prioritise self-care, are better equipped to devise effective solutions to the issues and concerns related to their children. 5. Impact of Parenting on Child Development From my experience I understood that parents play a critical role in shaping their children's emotional, social, and cognitive development. There are different parenting styles and all parents have different temperaments. Have you ever worked with a Parenting Coach? #ParentingCoach #parenting #kids

“Strength-based parenting can help your child feel they belong. Strength-based parenting can help your child improve their school performance. The key is to notice your child's strengths and amplify them.” ~ Jolanta Burke, Psychology Today, August 24, 2023 Traditional parenting often focuses on correcting weaknesses, but strength-based parenting flips the script. It's about recognising and nurturing your child's inherent talents and using them as a springboard for growth. This approach isn't just feel-good fluff; it has real, measurable benefits. Firstly, strength-based parenting fosters a sense of belonging. Children who feel their unique strengths are valued are more likely to feel accepted and connected to their family, peers and community. A study by the University of California, Berkeley, found that children praised for their strengths had higher self-esteem and were more likely to engage positively with others. This sense of belonging translates to better social-emotional well-being and resilience. Secondly, strength-based parenting fuels academic success. When children leverage their strengths in learning, they're more engaged, motivated and persistent. A meta-analysis by the University of Rochester revealed that interventions focused on student strengths led to significant improvements in academic performance, particularly in math and reading. This suggests that amplifying strengths, not just fixing weaknesses, can unlock a child's true academic potential. You’re probably wondering how you can bring this approach home- It all starts with observation. Watch what your child naturally gravitates towards, what activities bring them joy and a sense of accomplishment. Celebrate their efforts, not just outcomes. Encourage them to use their strengths to tackle challenges and connect with others. All victories, even small ones matter! Please do share- What are you doing to recognise and celebrate your children's superpowers? How do you create an environment where their unique talents can shine? #emotionalintelligenceforyouth #emotionalintelligence #eq #ei #futureofwork #futureleaders #leadersoftomorrow #leadershipdevelopment #personaldevelopment #coaching #leadershipcoaching #professionalcoaching #icfcoach #kaceconsultants
