And for that simple and logical reason we are very glad to share the exciting news that.. 👉 🎯 Elcogen's Chief Technology Officer Martin Skov Skjøth-Rasmussen delivered a compelling lecture yesterday at TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology, Department of Materials and Environmental Technology, on the topic of "Hydrogen production, economy, and SOFC/EC - Operating principles, advantages and disadvantages, and future perspectives." 📖 Martin's presentation delved into a broad spectrum of hydrogen production-related subjects, providing a comprehensive overview that spanned the historical evolution of hydrogen production methods to the cutting-edge advantages offered by Solid Oxide Cell (SOC) technology. Stay tuned as Martin will give another guest lecture in Taltech on April 3rd and then the lecture is going to be about Innovation and Case Studies of New Technologies. 🔑 PS. IChemE and AIChE collaborate to promote engineering talent worldwide 30th July 2024 IChemE and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) have announced a collaboration to provide free resources to support more people across the world into STEM careers. With an urgent need for more people to join the global STEM workforce, the move is critical in addressing some of the biggest challenges of the 21st century – including the transition to a net zero future and securing sustainable food and water supplies. The partnership is also motivated by shortages of workers in this area worldwide, something that is only predicted to increase.

The IOCD essay competition has returned for its second year. Read below about how you can participate. In November 2023, the International Organization for Chemical Sciences in Development (IOCD) launched the second year of its annual essay competition on the role of the chemical sciences in sustainability, in collaboration with the Royal Society of Chemistry.   The competition is open globally to entrants under 35, providing a unique opportunity for young scientists and researchers to showcase their ideas and contribute to the important conversation on sustainability.    🔍 Theme for 2024: "How can the chemical sciences contribute to 'decarbonizing' the production of energy and to eliminating the generation or release of greenhouse gases from large-scale manufacturing and agricultural processes?"   🏆 Prizes: Regional winners will receive US$500 each and have their essays published in RSC Sustainability. Additionally, shortlisted essays will be featured in an annual compendium, "Young Voices in the Chemical Sciences for Sustainability".   🌍 Regions: Entrants will be grouped into seven regions for the selection of winners, based on their country of normal residence. These regions span the globe, ensuring a diverse range of perspectives!   📑 Submission Guidelines: Essays must not exceed 1500 words and should creatively address the theme, emphasising the importance of scientific approaches grounded in the chemical sciences for solving sustainability challenges.   We encourage all young scientists and researchers who are passionate about sustainability to submit an entry to the competition. But took in a great presentation by Simon Breeden talking about the need to support the technicians that bring the technology to life and keep the data flowing. Defining ,valuing, and developing the career path of technicians is critical to building and extracting value from the next generation of phenotyping (or any other science or engineering endeavor) . At Hiphen we are committed to developing early career researchers, but it takes an ecosystem level program to really nurture a countries talent like this ambitious program aims to do.
