One of the most interesting things I've found during this election cycle on the road to the EU elections in France has been the spillover of national debates into the space. We find a Bardella (Le Pen camp) and Hayer (Macron camp) match up once more. But with current polls indicating 31% of 18–24-year-olds voting for the far-right and only 4% voting for the presidential camp, there are clearly lessons to be drawn on the road to the Presidential elections in 2027. The EU election results will be important for France to take seriously moving forward.
In her latest B|Brief, Chloe-Alexandra Ladd delves into the latest French political dynamics as the country looks to the the European elections today. With 81 seats at play, and a rising far-right, the President’s coalition finds itself at a critical juncture- facing significant challenges. But lessons can, and should, be learned from the EU elections on the road to the Presidential elections in 2027. https://lnkd.in/eFHr2xKH
