Talk about going "beyond construction!" Our Hilton Head Christian Academy project team hosted the school's kindergartners for a day of hands-on learning to support their science lessons on basic motion and machinery. Superintendent Micah Turnquist walked them through the site for the Upper School, explaining the construction equipment and providing a forklift demonstration so the students can see the concepts they're learning about in action. After topping out on the Upper School last month, the project team is making excellent progress towards completion, right on time for students to occupy the school next fall. Once complete, the facility will provide collaborative learning spaces, an art studio, a science lab, and a second cafe for the campus, as well as a porch pavilion and courtyard area. Relationships like those formed with the HHCA team and students are a huge part of why we love what we do. Congratulations to the team on the exciting progress! In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, we're excited to lift up some of our rockstar employee-owners and celebrate the energy, contributions, and passion they bring to our team. Meet Guadalupe Martinez! As a first-generation college graduate, Guadalupe's ambition and love for learning are visible in how she shows up to work, on and off the jobsite. Guadalupe started her career with Choate as an intern before joining as a full-time employee-owner in pursuit of a career inspired by her father's work in construction. Seeing his hard work materialize into beautiful structures instilled in her that hard work is the start and end to a job well done. When asked what Hispanic Heritage Month means to her, Guadalupe shared, "Being Hispanic is honoring in every way, and I appreciate this month for recognizing the traditions and achievements of Latinos and Latinas throughout history. The culture, the food, and the traditions are all things I carry close to my heart, and I'm thankful for a time to celebrate those individuals who paved the way for me." The topping out ceremony for the Hyundai Mobility Training Center of Georgia marked a significant step in this unique project for our team in Savannah! Held at the Hyundai Metaplant in Bryan Country, GA, the event brought together over 200 attendees, celebrating the collaborative efforts that have propelled this innovative facility forward. After the ceremony, we thanked our crews for their hard work and efforts with an appreciation lunch. As we raise the final beam, we look ahead to the transformative impact this facility will have on training and workforce development in the region. Located adjacent to the Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington, NC, the Cape Fear Medical Office Building brings residents the first cancer treatment center in the county. The three-story facility will soon offer a variety of specialty medical services, providing patients with advanced cancer treatments and therapies through tools like the linear accelerator (LINAC) that delivers localized radiation therapy to minimize damage to surrounding tissue, chemotherapy infusion bays, and a healing garden. As the project nears completion, The Keith Corporation, Cape Fear Valley Health, and LS3P ASSOCIATES LTD. came together to celebrate the exciting progress made onsite and the impact this facility will soon have on the community. For this year's event, our team partnered with Edit Beer Co. to support Children's Flight of Hope and their 2024 "Featured Passenger" Colby, raising more than $130,000 as the event's Top Fundraising Team for 2024.
