“My Mummy works in a school, but she's not a teacher” – my daughter, aged 7. This got me thinking, how do I explain to my 7-and 4-year-old what I do? Answer Attempt #1: Mummy is a Storyteller. Pretty accurate, right? One aspect of my role is having the responsibility of capturing and sharing the essence of my schools through narratives, experiences, and moments. Together with my team, we weave stories of our students, staff, and the school itself, highlighting achievements, challenges, and aspirations. And through storytelling, we bring life to the values, culture, and identity of our school, helping others to understand and connect with what makes us special. It's about painting a vivid picture of who we are and the impact we have, one story at a time. That’s why I am incredibly proud to share the launch our Create Your Story campaign, where authenticity became the guiding principle of our brief. Too often, we see marketing efforts focus solely on showcasing facilities, products or numbers neglecting the authentic stories that breathe life into statistics. Our mission was clear: show, don't tell. Go take a look, let me know what you think. https://lnkd.in/ecYQUgNk #CreateYourStory #BrandStory #CreativeCampaigns #StrategicStorytelling
As Hampshire's leading academic 3-18 independent day school, we believe in more than just informing families about what our schools offer. We want to show you who we are. We are proud to share with you our Create Your Story campaign, a collection of 70 genuine and authentic narratives that reveal the true character of our schools. Uncover the diverse passions and love of learning through stories told by those at the heart of our community: the children at Stroud, pupils at KES, and our remarkable staff. Both King Edward's and Stroud are committed to fostering an environment where every child's journey can flourish, providing opportunities to create their own unique story. Ready to be inspired? The State Charter Schools Commission (SCSC) has approved five new charter schools set to open in Fall 2025, including Columbus/Muscogee County’s first start-up and only charter school, Dominion Purpose Academy (DPA). Columbus, Georgia’s 3rd largest city by population, has long awaited this addition, as other major cities outside Atlanta like Augusta, Savannah, and Macon have had multiple charter schools serving their communities for years. DPA will not only be the first start-up charter school in Columbus, but also the only charter school within an hour's drive of the city. We are excited to see DPA offer a much-needed PUBLIC education option for families in Columbus. While the city continues to thrive with industry and opportunity, it is also home to two of Georgia’s most impoverished zip codes. The three elementary schools closest to DPA’s proposed location have 87% of their combined students scoring below grade proficiency levels in ELA, Math, and Science. One of these schools has only 5% of students reading at grade level proficiency. Now, these families will have a choice, and we are confident that DPA will be a game changer by providing access to a high-quality, innovative charter school. With over 14,000 students on wait lists for charter schools all over Georgia, bringing one to a very large community that lacks options- like Columbus- is a significant win for students and families. I can’t wait to visit Dominion Purpose Academy when it opens in Fall 2025! https://lnkd.in/eaJSMU9Q

California's public school facilities need our support now more than ever. Equitable funding is crucial to ensure that every child, regardless of their zip code, has access to safe, modern, and effective learning environments. It's time to fundamentally change how school facilities are funded so that all students have access to the facilities they need and deserve to focus on their education. California students urgently need school facility funding from the state to modernize outdated and unsafe facilities. We must pass an education bond this year because there are billions of dollars in unmet needs. In moving forward with a much-needed education bond, however, it is crucial that our state legislature and the Newsom administration first fix the inequitable and unconstitutional system of school facility financing in California. Currently, low-wealth districts receive far less in state facility funding per student compared to their higher wealth counterparts ($7,000 vs. over $300,000)—even though they have greater modernization needs from compounded disinvestment from the state, and less ability to raise local funds. Learn more: 👇 Let's push for fair and adequate funding for all California public schools! Join the movement, spread the word, and let’s make a difference together! #FundOurSchools #EquitableEducation #SupportPublicSchools #CaliforniaEducation #InvestInOurFuture Help create brighter futures for EVERY student in California!
Lynwood Superintendent Gudiel Crosthwaite calls on our state leadership to fundamentally change how school facilities are funded so that all students have access to the facilities they need and deserve to focus on their education. In moving forward with a much-needed education bond, however, it is crucial that our state legislature and the Newsom administration first fix the inequitable and unconstitutional system of school facility financing in California. Currently, low-wealth districts receive substantially less state facility funding per student compared to their higher wealth counterparts—even though they have greater modernization needs from compounded disinvestment from the state, and less ability to raise local funds. Through this system, wealthy school districts can build theaters and STEM labs and pools. But low-wealth neighborhoods, who have been historically ignored and underinvested in—who need more funds to meet the needs of their students—are stuck using what funds they have to repair HVAC systems and maintain the conditions of their existing buildings. The result is an unequal and unconstitutional system in which students in low-wealth districts receive an education inferior to that of their peers in higher-wealth districts. Advancing Science & Nurturing Entrepreneurship / The European Academy of Sciences and Arts / IEDC Bled School of Management
Is this the future of education? Would you consider enrolling your child in a SLANT-based school? Advocates of no-excuses policies in schools argue that progressive, child-centered approaches that spread in the 1970s caused a behavioral crisis, reduced learning, and hindered social mobility. The policy is called “Slant” (Sit up, Lean forward, Ask and answer questions, Nod your head, and Track the speaker). The argument in favor of SLANT? Wealthy children can afford to waste time at school because “their parents take them to museums and art galleries,” In contrast, for children from poorer backgrounds, “the only way you’re going to know about some Roman history is if you’re in your school learning.” Should we instead advocate for a balanced approach that offers all children, regardless of their economic status, access to an environment that fosters discipline alongside creativity and freedom? #FutureOfEducation #SLANTSchool #NoExcusesPolicy #DisciplineInSchools #CreativityInEducation #EducationalReform #HolisticDevelopment
