How can we give our customers (event marketers) more of a seat at the table? It’s something I am thinking about constantly. Because without their voice, the business is flying blind. Yes - There are a number of ways we already invest in this: ✅ Talk to customers & non-customers constantly. It's an idea that is so simple, but not always easy for people to do. And as CEO - I view this as one of my most important jobs. ✅ Hire former event marketers: Whenever we can find team-members who have walked in the shoes of our customers, the better. ✅ Prioritize Frontline Feedback: Our frontline team members in CS see and feel everything from our customers, so their input is crucial when it comes to product priorities. BTW - a potential downfall of AI and Chatbots for product oriented orgs. But I want really to go deeper. Which is why I’m so excited to announce our NEW Event Marketer In Residence Program. And want to welcome our first EMIR and one of our event content pros to watch this year: Bryan Funk I thought we’d share a bit about Bryan what specifically what he is going to work on over the next 3-6 months. https://lnkd.in/g8jfe5PV

Innovative Marketing Leader Specializing in Strategic Events & Partner Marketing 🪸 Lover of Dogs, Knitting, Pop Culture and Music
I may be biased to Julius Solaris’ opinion below - He’s so right! I’ve never worked with better all-around problem solvers than the people who successfully plan and execute events. We have the ability to communicate with all levels of sometimes very complicated cross-functional teams. When changes come up (as they often do) - we pivot on a dime and deliver the best possible outcomes. AI may help us get through a lot of things - but it does not replace face to face, live, human experiences. (Notice how I didn’t use the word “thrilled” in this post 😉) #opentowork #eventmanagement #corporateevents #mondaymotivation
Many event pros are Open to Work on LinkedIn. You should hire them. Whether your company does events or not, I cannot recommend enough hiring event professionals. They are awesome at: Operations Project management Customer success They make stuff happen. They are what AI will never be able to do. But most of all, these are incredibly gifted people who don’t flinch when presented with the most challenging task. Hire a planner.

A visionary with passion for events, auto sales/purchasing & creative design. Delivering unforgettable experiences, boosting revenue & unique designs. Let's create something truly exceptional.
Fully agreed with this, event planners are often multi-talented and trained to create something from scratch, building experience to achieve customer satisfaction. Some facts based on my own experience: 1. They are the first person to arrive at an empty event hall for setup and the last person to leave making sure teardown is done properly 2. They take every chance to introduce new technology on every proposals 3. They are often managing one or more of these important aspects of an event project: budgeting, scheduling, compliance, contracts, registration, vip, security, f&b, internet, AV, show calling, etc 4. They are well connected with network of vendors, emcees, performers, industry experts 5. Those who are still in the events industry to date are tough people who have weave their ways through crisis and pandemic 6. They are dedicated and adaptable people, they have worked across regions, time-zones, languages, and completed projects from multiple disciplines and industries 7. Tell me more about it…

Purpose-Driven-People Leader//Talent Acquisition Visionary//Career Coach//Disruptor//Encouraging Personal Responsibility to BECOME ALIVE in your Career
"If you want something, prove it." 🔥 This was a quote one of my hiring managers said this week in regards to candidates, as we were sifting through hundreds of resumes. It got me thinking how the values of hunger, drive, and grit seem to be lost in this next generation of employees. We were lucky enough to come across someone who 'proved' to us that they wanted to be here, in this role, at this company. This is one of the many reasons why I love where I work. I work with people who are PASSIONATE for what they do and WHY they do it. They bring grit, drive, and resiliency to the table. So if you're a recruiter, wait for the candidate who WANTS to prove to you that they are the right person for the job. If you're a candidate, prove to your employer why they should hire you. If you want something, go after it, and PROVE yourself, rather than wait for it to 'magically' happen. If this type of mindset is attractive to you and the environment you're looking to be surrounded by, we are hiring 😎 https://lnkd.in/gqiB-Nma Disruptive Advertising
