Meaningful connections lead to meaningful outcomes. Recently had lunch with a high-level ops individual at a large General Contractor in the DMV. When I first met them? They were at a different company and our opportunities didn't align. That was clear from the jump. But we both valued relationships and chose to stay connected. Now? They’re at different company, with different opportunities, and the ability to influence decision-making. This year's crewman is next year's superintendent. And you'll need a favor from them on a job site. This year's project engineer is next year's project manager. And they’ll be buying out a job you're pursuing. Our true character is revealed by how we treat those in the humblest of positions, not those in the positions of grandeur. #ruppertlandscape #businessdeveloper #construction #networking #relationships #buildmeaningfully

Incidentally, Willard's Real Pit BBQ in Chantilly is a solid choice for lunch if you're in the area. The ribs were on point 👌

Chris, you’re a master of your craft because you understand it’s a marathon not a sprint. The relationships we establish and cultivate today will positively impact our long term business results. As long as both sides put in effort to maintain the relationship, we should eventually find the opportunity of doing business together. The worst case scenario is the business opportunity never aligns, but we made some new friends…that doesn’t seem too bad.  I appreciate that you and the rest of the Ruppert Landscape BD team take a relationships first approach.
