You are what you eat. I make meals for my rescued and adopted dogs. Just like humans who eat unhealthy food, dogs can gain weight and develop health problems like diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. I focus on eating lots of vegetables, fruits, and fish, and less meat. I stay away from processed foods and choose organic options whenever possible. My dogs 🐕 same thing. I cooked and baked their meals. Boiled chicken with steam vegetables such as peas, carrots and bok choy. For snacks, I give them slice of apples, watermelon, or dried mango. Purchasing store-bought foods with many added chemicals can result in higher vet bills later on. Similar to how you are eating unhealthy foods leads to more doctor visits and taking lots of medications or getting cancer. It's important to feed your pets healthy meals. #pethealth #pethealthcare

Should I feed the ducks? It is not healthy for Muscovies to become dependent on people for food. The best food for ducks is what they eat naturally in the wild. Residents most often feed them bread and similar items. These have no nutritional value for the duck. Additionally, feeding by residents makes the ducks reliant on such handouts, and too lazy to continue foraging for their natural dietary items. Second, feeding ducks encourages them to use the neighborhood as their bathroom, leaving droppings on patios, sidewalks, and porches. As a result, controversies frequently arise between residents who enjoy the birds and residents who consider them a nuisance. #ducks #muscovies #southfloridaproblems #southflorida #floridaproblems #lakes #southfloridalake #floridalake #HOA #Propertymanager #communityassociationmanager #communityproblems #nuisance #muscovyducks

Some kids are more food responsive than others. It’s a fact. Some kids are more triggered by coveted and palatable foods. It’s just their nature. Some kids have difficulty with delayed gratification. Yep. And some kids struggle with executive functioning and exerting self-control. These kids have a FOOD APPROACH and associated behaviors that are baked in, or natural to them. It’s just how they operate. And because of this, having more sweets and treats hanging around, or unlimited access to indulgent foods, can be very hard for them. Their reaction may be to INDULGE, not moderate their consumption. They cannot pass up the plate of cookies or the bowl of M&Ms. This is an important nuance to consider. What do they need to be successful with all foods, especially sweets and treats? Structure. Boundaries. Routines. Systems. Predictability. (Not food restriction and not an abundance of sweets and treats, either.) If you have a child who is more food responsive or has other challenges with self-control around food, follow me here for more guidance and check out my resources at The Nourished Child. #linkinbio . . . . . #nutritionCoach #nutritionist #holisticnutrition #pediatricdietitian #dietitianapproved #thenourishedchildblueprint #parentingtips #sizewise #wiseadvice #momtips
