Opening a new store? I’ve opened several new stores and it was always tough determining the correct roster. No matter the projected budget, research on the area, client behavior or ecomm sales, the census always changed. I needed to hire more or reduce hours and eliminate certain roles based on traffic/sales. What if you could use Reflex to help shape your roster correctly? Reflex could not only help with the new store opening, but help to shape the right census. Think about avoiding overspending with overhiring and not enough sales/ traffic in the beginning. You can also quickly get the support if you under hired or struggling to fill roles with experienced retail associates that get brand specific training consistently. This would have helped me so much as I look at this photo when I first opened a new store in a new market. #reflex #retail #retailindustry #retailing #management #retailworkers #leaders #newstoreopening #newstores #nso #staffing

Retail Manager: "You've missed your sales goal again this month and you're responsible for 30% of the business. How can I help support? " Retail Associate: " I don't have enough time to clientele and outreach due to tasking. You and the ASM are always on business calls in the back, and interviewing since we have turnover vs. being on the floor to help support. The schedule for me is not flexible and closing alone missing sales. If we could get a little more coverage, I could just sell during peak times vs. tasking or coming in for floor sets during non-sell hours and have more time to outreach I could hit my goals." This is too real and another way Reflex can help. Sometimes you don't need a permanent hire, but you need extra support weekly to give back time to your sales associates! Having support from Reflex has helped free up time for teams to focus on selling, and allow the Leadership team to support and not be in the back doing operational tasking. #Reflex #retail #retailmanagers #managers #retailindustry #flexible #smart #solutions #thinksmarter #thinkdifferent

"Macy’s plans to lay off about 13% of its corporate staff and close five stores in a bid to trim costs and redirect spending to improve the shopping experience for customers. The job cuts total roughly 2,350 positions, or 3.5% of Macy’s overall workforce excluding seasonal hires, according to a memo sent to employees Thursday afternoon and people familiar with the situation. Macy’s plans to add more automation to its supply chain and is outsourcing some roles, according to the memo, which didn’t specify which jobs. It’s also reducing management layers to speed decision-making.” https://lnkd.in/edqfFXiE

We watch as another once prominent retailer files for financial protections recently. 95 stores were announced to be closing on April 22nd. It’s always a sad day for the teams that work hard everyday. Sadly they were not the only chain to file in the last few months. And it appears according to the news to be others to follow. Question? In your professional opinion- ✅Do you feel this retailers reign in the clothing sector ended by its own doing? ✅Could it have been avoided? ✅What other factors do you believe contributed? If you are hiring close to any of these locations closing their doors. Offer an opportunity to the team members not sure what to do next. #leadership #retail #jobs #teamwork

Be sure to know the #core of your operation, what should your #department bring and support to your #company. #Talk to your team, let them #teach you and generate a #synergy together. #better #faster #stronger By the way, this is me today installing a watch tray display in a store 😋 #huawei #Falabella #Gt4 #smartwatch

In a bid to streamline costs and address slowing sales, venerable department store retailer Macy's (NYSE:M) has revealed plans to cut approximately 2,350 jobs and shutter five stores, according to an announcement made on Thursday. The move is part of the company's ongoing efforts to adapt to the evolving retail landscape and changing consumer behaviors. A memo obtained by CNBC stated, "As we prepare to deploy a new strategy to meet the needs of an everchanging consumer and marketplace, we made the difficult decision to reduce our workforce by 3.5% to become a more streamlined company." The layoffs will impact staff across various stores and the retailer's corporate office. This strategic shift comes on the heels of #Macy's recent plans to open around 30 smaller stores in strip malls over the next two years. ◍ Hiring key commercial executives within consumer & retail ◍ 20 years living and working internationally ◍ Expertise in digital transformation ◍ Accredited Executive Coach
Grocery is becoming increasingly omni-channel but consumer experience is also central to driving differentiation and higher foot traffic… Asda’s latest initiative to welcome Leon, the restaurant chain acquired by parent company EG Group in 2021, to select stores is further evidence of a grocery retailer aiming to create differentiation. We’re going to see more evidence of this strategy I suspect as grocery retail looks to satisfy the changing needs of consumers and access wider communities of shoppers. Interplay between sister brands has been in evidence for a while in the UK (good examples being Sainsbury with Argos and Habitat and John Lewis with Waitrose) and the marketing leaders I am talking to only see this trend increasing. Grocery retail is becoming a fascinating but highly competitive field. A common hiring requirement for marketing leaders in the retail world generally is an omni-channel mindset that taps into collaborative opportunities with other brands What are some of your best examples to illustrate this internationally? #retail #digital #recruitment --------------------------------------------------------------- 👋 I’m Guy, founder of BartonRock Executive Search 👉 I help consumer & retail businesses hire key senior executives and advise them on people & hiring strategy 🗞️ Sign up for my newsletter Scaling Success 🔔 Tap the bell to get notified

As a retailer, you’re only as good as the people that work in your shops. Simple enough! I’m going to confess that a few years ago I had a “sacred cow” moment. A sudden realisation that I was precious about something I really shouldn’t have been precious about, as a leader in a retail business: My store teams. I spent years working for large retailers, a large part of it running stores. I subscribe whole heartedly to the notion that in retail, everything is ultimately about the people. (And to add, the absolute hardest job in the world is to be a supermarket store manager, hands down!) 10 years ago, I would have called you insane if you had told me that a retailer or brand should outsource its staffing/ people function. And then I took over running a business that had been, for the first 15 years of its life, a staffing agency. I was so wrong – and the potential for brand ambassadorial, promotional staffing qualities to breathe new life into retail store teams is almost limitless. The future of the retail stores is irrefutably experiential. Consumers don’t need stores to buy products. They need stores to discover, understand, experience, play with or be entertained by your product or brand or idea. Who better to tell those stories than employees who are experts in storytelling? Most of my LinkedIn friends are retailers, so if you don’t know much about the promotional marketing landscape – it’s full of creatives. MASSES of talent who will one day be actors, dancers, poets, singers. These guys and girls are the future of retail staffing. The best example I can give you is the famous Ellen’s Diner in New York. The wait staff are all Broadway wannabes. So they sing show tunes at you the whole time you’re eating your meal. And the public queues around the block to get in for the experience. Are they any good at waiting tables? I can confirm they are not! But they’re amazing at delivering a performance. When I was young, the best store teams were made up of ‘process people’ – there are tasks to do; filling up shelves, serving customers at tills, counting stock, and so on. We’re almost in an age where humans don’t need to do any of those things. The skills we need to value in our retail teams are the ones you can see in Ellen’s Diner. To all my retailer friends – I was wrong about being precious about managing my own staff teams. Come and find out how great experiential minded teams can change the game in serving what consumers really want from a store experience. https://lnkd.in/eTJDvSnz #AgileRetail #Innovation #RetailExperience #PopUpShop #Staffing #CustomerExperience

#retail #retailmanagement #retailjobs #retailcareers #retailing #retailinnovation - Sales per square feet: This is a measure of how efficiently a store uses its space to generate revenue. It is calculated by dividing the total sales by the total square footage of the store. A higher sales per square feet indicates a better performance and a more profitable store Staff per square feet: This is a measure of how many employees are needed to run a store. It is calculated by dividing the total square footage of the store by the number of staff members. A lower staff per square feet indicates a more productive and cost-effective workforce. I hope you liked what I shared above..! Happy Selling..! Aseel K.
