Neurologically depression is what it is…….. emotional energy that is suppressed and so difficult to identify and feel but real none theless. Neurotransmitter’s creating low levels of empowering levels and increasing levels of negative impacting chemicals and hormones. I just respect the way it is stated…… they hide the feelings which include fear and loss and anger. Faking it is also a form of neuroprotection that kicks in. Imposter syndrome is an ego and personality response to project to others not to ask many deep delving questions. #drbillprice #neuroscienceofthings #neuroCoaching #neuroexecutiveleaders #neuroTeamCoaching Look beyond the grand play of personality and ego……. There is where reality plays its games

Gratitude Even in Despair: A Journey of Finding Light Amidst Darkness Gratitude, even in moments of despair, is the quiet acknowledgment of life’s resilience and the lessons it offers. It is not about dismissing pain or ignoring struggles but about embracing the growth, strength, and moments of grace that exist despite them. In despair, gratitude becomes a practice—a deliberate shift in perspective that transforms what feels like insurmountable darkness into an opportunity for light. Why Gratitude in Despair Matters: a) Resilience Builder: Recognizing small blessings fosters emotional strength, helping to navigate tough times with greater fortitude. b) Shift in Focus: By focusing on what remains rather than what is lost, gratitude anchors us in hope and possibility. c) Connection to the Present: In despair, the mind often dwells in the past or fears the future. Gratitude roots us in the now, where healing begins. Practices to Cultivate Gratitude in Tough Times: a) Start Small: Acknowledge the basics—like the warmth of sunlight, a kind word, or a moment of stillness. b) Journal Your Gratitude: Write three things daily that you are thankful for, no matter how minor they seem. c) Seek Meaning in Struggle: Reflect on the lessons or strength gained from adversity. d) Extend Gratitude to Others: Expressing thanks to those around you creates a ripple effect, deepening connections and mutual support. e) Practice Mindfulness: Pause and savor small moments of beauty or relief that might otherwise go unnoticed. Transforming Despair Through Gratitude: Even in the stormiest of seas, gratitude reminds us of the harbor. It is the silent whisper that, despite the hardships, we are still here, still capable of love, growth, and healing. Embracing gratitude in despair doesn’t negate pain—it uplifts the spirit to endure it, opening pathways for transformation and renewal. As Rumi beautifully said, “Don’t grieve. Anything you lose comes round in another form.” Gratitude is the thread that weaves together loss and renewal, sorrow and joy, despair and hope. https://lnkd.in/dDkCMXDT

SURVIVING TO THE ART OF THRIVING I have had the privilege of following Maya Angelou's work over decades. In a world that cultures worry and fear in many forms as 'the norm', sadly, wellness may be but a dream for many. But this video is insightful for guiding us to be with our equanimity and deep inner peace. Should you find your Self struggling at any point, this video will be helpful for you to appreciate how you can rebalance and truly thrive. #health #balance #peace #wellness #jobs #careerdevelopment #happiness #personaldevelopment #personalgrowth
Despite life’s pain, shame, grief, and heartache, Maya Angelou’s 1978 poem, “I Rise” inspires us to do just that again and again. A beautiful reminder ❤️

Modern media teaches you how to make enemies, label and divide people, cultivate fear, paranoia, phobias, hate, animosity, anger and alienate people; but rarely how to MAKE FRIENDS, sow PEACE and bring people together. BE KIND ~ https://lnkd.in/gSuuU4KZ 'Don't forget to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unaware." (Hebrews 13:2) Today, I had two ladies in the mall walk up to me from California and say hello, followed by a guy from Turkey minutes later. Thereafter, when reviewing restaurants' menus we met two Christian restaurant workers in the middle of a spiritual conversation. After speaking together, one young man asked me to speak in his church. Yesterday, when a family at lunch was attempting to take a family photo, I offered to help so everyone could be therein and a guy from among the group says to me: "You must be a Christian. I'm a Pastor." We immediately connected. Gentle reminder, if you want more friends, BE FRIENDLY. (Proverbs 18:24) Jesus said: "A new commandment I give unto you, that you LOVE one another; as I have loved you, that you also LOVE one another. By this shall all men know that you are My disciples, if you have love one to another." (John 13:34-35) "These things have I spoken unto you, that My JOY might remain in you, and that your JOY might be FULL." "The issue which faces us all, is not just how to survive - obviously we are all doing that somehow - but really, how to thrive. Really thrive with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style." - Maya Angelou This line between surviving and thriving feels like it's come into sharp relief as I watch and read about the fires in Los Angeles. A place where there is typically so much 'thriving' you might say, a place of aspiration for so many creatives, where some combination of hard work, talent and luck can build an enviable life of artistic growth and satisfaction and sea and sun and possibly even incredible wealth and stunning views. But, at least from this faraway vantage point, and without diminishing the plain survival that so many are dealing with (especially those with dependants), there appears to be a different, deeper, maybe more significant kind of thriving going on. The kind where people are coming together to help one another in the wake of all that loss - and as the fires still burn - showing up with whatever they can, and doing whatever they can, to help others survive and rise again. To help strangers, who I guess cease to be 'strangers' in this time. It might even be enough to burn away some of the cynicism about where we're at and who we've become as humans. I know I'll likely be unable to think of what it means to 'thrive' without remembering what's happened, on so many different levels, this week.

The amazing and inspiring Maya Angelou encourages us to “Rise” again and again. As she brilliantly states the goal is not to just survive but to THRIVE. When challenges hit, and they inevitably will, how do we first rise, and then how do we resiliently thrive? Elie Wiesel once said, “Whoever survives a test, whatever it may be, must tell the story. That is his duty.” In telling our story we boldly claim it, advertise our strength and survival, show others behind us in the journey that they are not alone and we can do hard things, show that we are more than our challenges and struggles, and we rise again resiliently improving the path forward as we go. Each person has their own path and journey. It is exclusively carved for you to inspire and improve your way and the way of those that follow. Your individual constellation of character strengths map out a trajectory that is uniquely yours and allows you to suffer well and turn challenge to victory and triumph. How will you rise valiantly, resiliently, and courageously and THRIVE in 2025? Connect with CARE below to turn your character strengths into resilience in this new year and beyond. May you be resilient and THRIVE! 🦋🌺🌻🪷🌸💕 C.A.R.E. A ritual doesn’t have to be complex, grand, or associated with a specific religious practice. It can be something simple like taking a moment with family or friends to listen to music 🎵, watch the sunset 🌅, or bow 🙇🏽♂️ to the light within each other. The purpose of a ritual is to break the cycle of being on autopilot and to do something consciously while being fully present in the moment. What ritual would you like to bring into your life?

The Daily Stoic - May 12th Kindness Is Always The Right Response "Kindness is invincible, but only when it's sincere, with no hypocrisy or faking. For what can even the most malicious person do if you keep showing kindness and, if given the chance, you gently point out where they went wrong - right as they are trying to harm you?" ~ Marcus Aurelius, Meditations, 11.18.5.9a What if the next time you were treated meanly, you didn’t just restrain yourself from fighting back - what if you responded with unmitigated kindness? What kind of effect do you think that would have? The Bible says that when you can do something nice and caring to a hateful enemy, it is like heaping burning coals on their head. The expected reaction to hatred is more hatred. When someone says something pointed or mean today, they expect you to respond in kind - not with kindness. When that doesn't happen, they are embarrassed. It's a shock to their system - it makes them and you better. Most rudeness, meanness, and cruelty are a mask for deep-seated weakness. Kindness in these situations is only possible for people of great strength. You have that strength. Use it! #dailystoic
