A broad group of business lobbying groups and chambers of commerce vehemently oppose a not-so-business-friendly new bill recently introduced by the California Senate (SB 1286) which would have a significant impact on commercial (business-to-business) debts and for companies utilizing personal guarantees. This proposed legislation could impact a business' ability to send late payment notices or disclosing payment history and could also affect the collection of finance charges under SB 478.
