“Build a personal brand as an Estate Agent”, they say ... 🤔 OK, I get it. You are just plain old you. You are not a brand? ❌ Incorrect You are you We all are ourselves Change the word personal brand to reputation They are one and the same Nothing different. Your personal brand (aka Reputation) is how other people perceive us. So surely you want to improve your reputation? Your actions in this life build your reputation. Be that face to face or in a screen if a PC or mobile phone. And being active on social media loudens and projects that reputation (aka personal brand) Which is why you see all these (normal) people, seemingly coming out of nowhere. With great content, comes viewership and from that comes great engagement - reaping the benefits. How? Not only by doing good work, yet by engaging with the world on social media openly and consistently. You can do it too. Manage your reputation. Build your personal brand. And go ride the big waves 🏄♂️🤙 💡Top Tip Watkin - Firstly, join in on conversations by commenting. You can always start your own conversations later (by posting your own stuff).

Your own Image (reputation) is what is most important and always has been. Most of the people/agents create a fake Image and sooner or later that will crack and people will see through the cracks...Honesty and transparency is key to have a great reputation and build a reputable brand

Personal brand is becoming more and more important in agency. People watch what you are doing, keep it relevant and let your personality come out. You are building rapport with your next vendor without even realising it! 🙏🏻

Absolutely agree! Your personal brand is just another way of saying your reputation. Being active on social media can definitely help amplify that reputation. Do not focus on changing who you are; rather, manage how you're seen.

Due to my persona being unique from birth my personal brand resonated as "Tricky" in the Stockmarket to boss bishop then The B of Bs. In the self employed model I know its a clash eventually of cultures once the personal brand grows. In the corporate model its a conflict of interest as to who owns the clients . Ferrari is hiring a new personal brand and would have agreed certain pre cultural mix stipulations . Red Bull has a driver of greatness but as yet he doesn't have a strong personal brand yet worldwide recognition. In the coming years reputational damage will be addressed in greater clarity and with this brings a new department within firms to navigate the choppy waters of how far the personal brand can tread in line with other entities at play. The personal brand is a baby but once grown can tear the limbs of a partner who isn't in sync with their trajectory and purpose. Think about that. How does AI fit into the equation if it seeks its own..a la 2001. There's no such thing as too much swagger

I think we should do away with all the BS and community back patting (self back patting included.) and just attempt to be 100% honest with all clients instead. Not only will you and your clients find it refreshing beyond compare. You won't require a photographic memory as if you are asked the same question in the future you can simply answer honestly and it will be identical to any previous response. 😉 Simple yet more effective and rewarding than all of the marketing combined.

Brand = Trust. 60% choose on trust. The brand gets you business when you are not in the room.
