💡 Data is crucial for demonstrating the effectiveness of the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P), yet statewide data on ELO-P is lacking. Help us gather essential data and insights by completing our confidential survey or participating in an interview by Friday, April 12th. These surveys, together with interviews with a number of districts and community partners, will be used to raise awareness and support from state decision-makers in this current budget cycle (with multi-billion dollar deficits) for sustained funding of ELO-P. It is also intended to cultivate support for effectively leveraging ELO-P funding, to give local decision-makers the information they need to invest their ELO-P funding effectively, and to help inform what data should be collected at the state level. I recently took part in the ED Open Data Day Forum hosted by The Department of Education’s Office of the Chief Data Officer, where they shared insights on their approach to making education data accessible to the public. Their website, https://data.ed.gov, stands out as a valuable hub for accessing national and state-level education data, which would allow nonprofits to get benchmarks to compare their program outcomes. The platform offers datasets spanning a wide range of topics including special education, STEM, and Teacher Education. Moreover, the department has converted some of these datasets into visual formats to improve user experience.
