TOPCon solar module production hits cell bottleneck in India -->Transition to Advanced Solar Cell Technologies: The Indian solar industry is transitioning to tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) and heterojunction (HJT) technologies. -->Cell Production Challenges: While there's a shift to TOPCon modules, the current industry capacity for producing cells is not sufficient to meet the domestic PV module demand, posing a challenge for manufacturers. -->Domestic Content Requirement (DCR): The lack of domestically produced cells and the DCR mandate for government projects have resulted in a significant demand-supply gap, leading to higher costs for domestic solar cells compared to imported ones. -->Technology Transition and Challenges: The industry is gradually moving towards technologies like TOPCon and HJT while facing challenges such as high capital expenditure, the need for technological advancement, and skilled manpower recruitment in ramping up cell production. -->Temporary Problem: The shortage of DCR cells is seen as a transient issue, with new construction of cell manufacturing plants and the operationalization of capacities expected to mitigate the demand-supply gap over time. -->Proposed Solutions: Given the crisis in sourcing quality domestic cells, there's a proposal to broaden the domestic content requirement to encompass up to 50% of the total balance-of-system (BOS) to stimulate the development of ancillary industries. #solarenergy #epcprojects #epc #solarpower #solarpanels #solarpv #solarinstallation #solarindustry #solarinnovation #solarinverter #solarenergysystem #renewableenergysystems #renewables #renewablefuture

India 🇮🇳 is celebrating its 78th #Independence day. Today India stands 4th globally in Renewable Energy Installed Capacity, 4th in Wind Power capacity and 5th in Solar Power capacity. According to a recent report by Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), over 250 million households across the country have the potential to deploy 637 GW of solar capacity on rooftops. However, as of December 2023, India installed only 11.08 GW of grid-connected RTS against a target of 40 GW. Ground-mounted solar plants contributed 56.92 GW. SmartHelio is dedicated to advancing India's solar transition by leveraging data and intelligence. SmartHelio has established a solar test facility in Delhi for new technologies (data and hardware). We also operates a center in Noida, where some of the brightest minds are working to harness data and intelligence to accelerate the adoption of clean energy in Indian society. #SmartHelio #IndianIndependenceDay

India's Rewa Ultra-Mega Solar Power Plant is setting global benchmarks! Located in Madhya Pradesh, the Rewa solar plant, the world's largest, has been recognized by Harvard University as a case study for its exceptional management and operations. This massive facility is producing commercial energy at the world's lowest rate, providing electricity at ₹3.30 per unit for 25 years. Powering key infrastructure like the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd, it began commercial production in January 2020. Madhya Pradesh is rapidly becoming a solar energy hub under the leadership of PM Modi. Alongside Rewa, the state is also developing the world’s largest floating solar project on the Narmada River. With more than 300 sunny days annually, MP has abundant solar potential. Rewa is also India’s first solar project funded by the World Bank’s Clean Technology Fund. This milestone highlights India's leadership in renewable energy, setting a strong example for future projects globally. 🌍⚡ #renewableenergy #solar #rewasolarplant #cleanenergy #india #sustainability #energytransition #harvard #solarpowerplant

These innovations in the solar energy sector can change our future ⚡ The renewable energy sector is fast developing because of the pressing need for clean energy And this has brought about some amazing innovations that could revolutionize the industry. Let's talk about two such game-changers: Perovskite Power 🔆 Imagine a solar cell as thin and flexible as a sheet of paper! Perovskite solar cells hold that promise. These next-generation cells are lighter, cheaper to produce, and even work in low-light conditions. While still under development, perovskites have the potential to become a major player in India's rooftop solar revolution. Concentrated Sunshine ☀️ Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) plants use mirrors to focus sunlight onto a central point, generating intense heat that creates electricity. CSP can store this heat, allowing for power generation even at night. These innovations could be a game-changer for India's renewable energy goals Perovskites could make rooftop solar even more accessible, while CSP could provide a stable base for the grid. The future of solar is looking great, and India is well-positioned to be at the forefront💡 What are your thoughts on these emerging technologies? ♻️ Don’t forget to follow Ksquare Energy Pvt Ltd to learn more about Solar Solutions! #solarenergy #india #renewableenergy #innovation
