People can be so amazing. I love this story. It's nearly impossible to keep up with all that's happening in our world and so often it's gloom and doom. It used to be you could watch the nightly news for 30 minutes and get it all in one quick go. Now, the news cycle is 24/7 and people are doom scrolling to be sure they're not missing anything. But that's a slow drain on your energy and it just feeds stress. It can also feed the feelings of division. It can be hard to quit doom scrolling and some even have greater anxiety when they stop. Instead, might I suggest setting a timer for 30 minutes? When it goes off, pause what you're watching and look for some good news. Not only will that give you a break, but it sets an algorithm so when you go back to watching/listening, your options will include wonderful stories, good news, and maybe even a puppy or two. Take care of yourself and your mental health by balancing and expanding what you are taking in. What we consume - mentally as well as physically - impacts our lives and our health. #mentalhealth #holidaystress #politics #coaching #Christmas #health #news #goodnews
“It was a portal back in time." Tucked away behind a wall in Atlanta's Plaza Theatre, untouched for decades, was a withered burgundy wallet – frozen in time and "chock full of history."

When we discuss equity in education, we must also discuss accessibility and inclusion. It’s not just that schools should offer arts courses for their many benefits; it’s that ALL STUDENTS should have ways to engage in their school’s arts programs. Because ALL students deserve those benefits. If you know a school that needs some support, encourage them to contact us. If you know a school that’s already modeling inclusive, equitable practices, submit them for our ArtsEd Spotlight! #accessiblearts #equitableeducation #artseducation #specialeducation #washingtonschools #deia #equityinaction
Henry Seipp, the theatre director at Shadle Park High School, has created a space for special education students to join their classmates on stage. This is another example of how integrating special education students with their general education peers is good for everyone. Get your tissues ready for this one. Going to the theatre with my colleagues last week was incredible. During the performance, we had the opportunity to observe how the actors skillfully conveyed emotions, articulated their lines, and engaged with the audience. It was fascinating to see their stage presence and how they captured everyone's attention. One thing that really stood out to me was how theater performances are live events, which means unexpected situations can arise. Just like in our #ITprojects, where we often encounter unforeseen challenges, the actors in the theater had to adapt and handle these situations with grace and professionalism. Moreover, the #attentiontodetail in theater productions is simply remarkable. Every aspect, from the set design to the costumes, is meticulously crafted to create a seamless and immersive experience for the audience. It reminded me of the importance of paying attention to even the smallest details in our own projects to deliver a high-quality end result. Theater production truly showcases the power of #collaboration. It requires an extensive network of professionals, including actors, directors, set designers, costume designers, and more, working together to bring a production to life. Exploring diverse domains, like theater, offers lessons for personal and professional growth. What unexpected places have inspired you?
Yesterday we visited the theater. It was great and very interesting. Thank you my colleagues Elena Filon Olga Suhaka and Darya Zalatarova I was so happy to spend this time with you. 😍 Also, would like to thank Elinext and our event manager LIZAVETA KALENKA for instilling in us a love of theater ❤️

Broadway was first nicknamed the “Great White Way” back in 1902 due to the bright lights of the marquees, billboards, and posters. The Olympia was the first Broadway theater to use electric lights in 1895. But the theater scene is not where the internationally known, north-south thoroughfare got its name. Broadway is a translation from the Dutch phrase brede weg, or "broad road." Here’s a fun fact: Broadway follows the “Mohican Trail” created by the Lenape. #propertymanagement #propertymanager #propertycare #propertymaintenance #homemaintenance #nyc #residential #manhattan #history #broadway

Did You Know? Before its transformation into the Empire Arts Center, it was first called the New Grand. The New Grand stood as the first theatre in Grand Forks designed specifically for showing motion pictures. Currently, the Empire is the city's last surviving downtown movie house! Would be curious for thoughts here. As arts and nonprofits face new challenges with AI, what happened the last time the world was faced with a change so drastic? Comment below!
I've been looking for writing or resources around the theater organizations' responses to the rise and adoption of the internet in the late 90s. It seems to me that it must have fundamentally changed how we made theater, but I can't find much about that adaptation or what the general vibe was while it was happening. So I'm turning to y'all: Were you working in or leading a theater organization around 1997-2002? How did your organization respond to the internet? What were the questions that it brought up at the time? Was there a lot of skepticism about it? Did it actually change how we worked as arts administrators in the drastic way that it seems? Can't wait to hear your stories! #TheaterEvolution #DigitalArtsHistory #ArtsLeadership #InternetEra #TheaterAdministration
