Kharkiv IT Cluster demonstrates its influence in the international arena again, representing the Ukrainian IT industry in the Czech Republic. As part of the Export Alliance APPAU project, a successful business mission took place, including the Kharkiv IT Cluster. The event was held from April 23 to 26 in Prague. The visit allowed for the presentation of domestic IT technologies and strengthened business ties between Ukrainian and Czech companies. Here's the key information: 👨💻 Ukraine's IT sector: 20 years of unique experience in 14 business domains. Over 95% of projects undertaken by Ukrainian IT companies are aimed at international markets. The main partner countries for Ukraine remain the USA, Malta, the UK, Cyprus, and Israel. 🦾 Kharkiv's IT industry: Despite challenges related to the war, Kharkiv remains a hub for the development of the Ukrainian IT industry. Currently, Kharkiv is home to over 500 companies and more than 50,000 programmers who, despite all trials, continue to actively develop this industrial hub. 🇨🇿 AI: Czechia & Ukraine: Czech partners already offer cooperation in projects such as digital twins, smart manufacturing, computer vision, and AI-based forest resource management. Ukrainians, in turn, share their experience. For example, 60% of Kharkiv IT Cluster participants actively use AI technologies in various fields. Their products are being implemented in our city and the lives of Kharkiv residents. The mission to the Czech Republic was part of the Export Alliance APPAU project supported by the USAID Competitive Economy of Ukraine Program.

Rapport Draghi : "As EU companies are specialised in mature technologies where the potential for breakthroughs is limited, they spend less on research and innovation (R&I) – EUR 270 billion less than their US counterparts". "We have many talented researchers and entrepreneurs filing patents. But innovation is blocked at the next stage: we are failing to translate innovation into commercialisation". "Although technology is crucial to protect Europe’s social model, AI could also undermine it without a strong focus on skills." "At the root of Europe’s weak position in digital tech is a static industrial structure which produces a vicious circle of low investment and low innovation". "There are not enough academic institutions achieving top levels of excellence and the pipeline from innovation into commercialisation is weak". "Public spending on R&I in Europe lacks scale and is insufficiently focused on breakthrough innovation." "Europe needs to make it easier for “inventors to become investors” and facilitate scaling up of successful ventures." "The EU has a unique opportunity to lower the cost of AI deployment by increasing computational capacity and making available its network of high-performance computers" "The EU should promote cross-industry coordination and data sharing to accelerate the integration of AI into European industry."
