💡Special Economic Zones (SEZs) are designated areas within countries that offer favorable economic regulations and policies to attract investment, boost industrial growth, and enhance trade. SEZs in Latin America have brought significant advantages to the region, including: 👷♀️ Job creation 🏗️ Enhanced infrastructure 🌐 Greater access to international markets 💸 Increased foreign investment 💰 Higher public revenues However, to fully realize their potential, effective coordination among government levels and proper resource allocation are crucial. OECD - OCDE experts discussed this issue at the recent launch of the project "Rethinking Regional Attractiveness for Inclusive and Sustainable Development in Escuintla, Guatemala: Harnessing the Potential of the Industrial Park Project." This event, conducted entirely in Spanish, saw strong engagement from both private and public sector stakeholders. We look forward to leveraging these insights to foster sustainable development and inclusivity in Escuintla. More on our work on Regional Attractiveness Regions in Globalisation 🔗 https://oe.cd/5zU

We are conducting business in an era defined by digital transformation, geopolitical and economic uncertainty, and climate change. At the same time, the report on European competitiveness underscores the urgent need for a bold restructuring of the European Union’s economic model. Against this backdrop, the Public Affairs Committee of the American - Hellenic Chamber of Commerce hosted a working luncheon with Mr. Spyros Theodoropoulos, the newly elected Chairman of SEV Hellenic Federation of Enterprises | ΣΕΒ σύνδεσμος επιχειρήσεων και βιομηχανιών. Our guest of honor is a leading entrepreneur and one of the most important voices on industry and entrepreneurship. We are confident that he will serve his new role with determination and effectiveness. Ms Rania Ekaterinari (Aikaterinari), President of the Executive Committee & Vice-President of the Board of SEV also participated. We thank them sincerely for accepting our invitation. As Public Affairs Committee, we aim through these meetings to discover common ground and areas of action with institutional intercalators and opinion leaders, highlight the fact that we are stronger together. AmCham seeks to foster dialogue and collaboration based on our shared vision for the potential of the Greek economy. It is no coincidence that our President, Nikolaos Bakatselos, enthusiastically supported this meeting from the outset. SEV and AmCham share a common agenda and alignment on many critical issues. I firmly believe that “stronger together” is the only way to maximize the influence of business organizations in our country. Through our collective efforts, SEV and AmCham can make a clear and tangible contribution to shaping Greece’s future.
