Ski holidays in the Alps are becoming increasingly exclusive! ⛷ More luxurious residences and shops, increasingly expensive ski passes, prohibitively high property prices... As the major high-altitude resorts move upmarket, the French clientele continues to shrink. "The consequence is a shrinking French clientele who can afford to go skiing, while the resorts are looking for a huge number of customers from abroad“, as Alain Boulogne, vice-president of the environmental association CIPRA France, explains. However, the "base" of skiers is narrow: 11% of French people claim to ski every year, according to the latest survey by the Ministry of Sport (2020), with an over-representation of managers and intermediate professions.   Full article is available 👉 https://lnkd.in/e6fVk5rX
