The 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐭 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥, also known as Duanwu Festival, is a traditional 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 celebrated this year on 10 June. It commemorates the life and death of the famous poet and minister 𝐐𝐮 𝐘𝐮𝐚𝐧, who lived during the Warring States period. The festival is marked by various cultural customs and activities. Three Traditions Associated with the Dragon Boat Festival: 1. 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐭 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠:  Teams paddle elaborately decorated dragon boats in races, symbolizing the search for Qu Yuan's body after he drowned himself in the Miluo River. 2. 𝐄𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐙𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐳𝐢: People prepare and eat zongzi, which are sticky rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves. This tradition originated from the villagers who threw rice into the river to prevent fish from eating Qu Yuan’s body. 3. 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐮𝐠𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭: These plants are hung on doors and windows to ward off evil spirits and disease, reflecting ancient beliefs in their protective qualities during the early summer season when the festival takes place.

Loy Krathong [ลอยกระทง] is one of the biggest festivities in Thailand. It is when people take to the waters to release small, illuminated boat offerings made of banana stalks and leaves. The term “Loy Krathong” is derived from word “loy” – meaning “to float”- and the word “krathong” – which refers to type of small, floating religious offering. Qingming Festival or Ching Ming Festival, also known as Tomb-Sweeping Day in English (sometimes also called Chinese Memorial Day, Ancestors' Day, the Clear Brightness Festival, or the Pure Brightness Festival), is a traditional Chinese festival observed by ethnic Chinese in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. During Qingming, Chinese families visit the tombs of their ancestors to clean the gravesites and make ritual offerings to their ancestors.Offerings would typically include traditional food dishes and the burning of joss sticks and joss paper.The holiday recognizes the traditional reverence of one's ancestors in Chinese culture. The origins of the Qingming Festival go back more than 2500 years, although the observance has changed significantly.
