Partners from CirclesOfLife attended Green Marine Europe Reveal, actively contributing to discussions on the environmental footprint of shipyards, circular economy opportunities, and end-of-lifecycle considerations, including ship recycling. Jorinus Kalis, our coordinator of the CirclesOfLife project, presented the main objectives which aims to improve the environmental performance of European shipyards and accelerate circularity. Benedetta Mantoan (NGO Shipbreaking Platform, also a member of CirclesOfLife) spoke about the current state of ship recycling, highlighting the challenges of this practice on a global scale. Green Marine Europe, a stakeholder in the CirclesOfLife consortium, and its certification programme demonstrate how the spirit of collaboration can be a powerful force for change towards more environmentally-friendly practices. This joint effort, initiated by responsible shipping companies and shipyards, is part of a shared desire to reduce ecological impacts, preserve marine biodiversity and meet the challenges of climate change. Thanks to the reinforcement of criteria and a long-term vision, Green Marine Europe is accompanying the maritime industry through an essential step. CirclesOfLife is fully in line with this spirit and this dynamic, with the ambition of spreading it widely and concretely to the European shipyard industry. 📍Find out more about the Green Marine Europe: https://lnkd.in/eg_uKgE2. 📍Read more about the event: https://lnkd.in/eC-P-54K 📸Green Marine Europe #CirclesOfLife #EcologicalTransition #MaritimeTransport #GreenMarineEurope #Environment #Sustainability #MaritimeIndustry
