Let’s meet our summer internship class of 2023! These promising minds are bringing a passion for aerospace and STEM to the next generation.
1. What’s your name and where are you from?
Hello, my name is Devin Fredericks. I grew up on a farm outside of Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
2. School and major?
I am currently attending Washington University in St. Louis, where I am pursuing a master’s in mechanical engineering.
3. What field of work interests you?
I would like to work in some field involving propulsion, be that either aerospace propulsion or automotive propulsion.
4. What are you hoping to learn about during your internship at Insitu?
I am hoping to learn as much as I can about working in industry and how that varies from academia, and about propulsion engineering as a subject. I find propulsion engineering to be both extremely cutting-edge from a scientific perspective, and just plain fascinating from a personal perspective.
5. What Insitu technology excites you the most?
I think the Insitu Integrator VTOL technology is super cool and provides a unique solution for customers that other companies may not be able to match.
6. What's a fun fact about you?
A fun fact about myself is that I am a return intern here at Insitu as I was the propulsion engineering intern last summer as well. I am super stoked for this opportunity to return to Insitu and build on the knowledge I gained last summer.
We couldn’t be more proud to have you back working with us again, Devin! Thanks for bringing your passion for propulsion to help our teams. 🙌
