I spend most of my day at work smiling. For some people, that may not seem relatable, and I get it. Work can sometimes be a drag, especially if you’re caught in the 9-5 grind of corporate America. For me, I truly love what I do, and it’s simple to see why. I work with a tremendous team that I’ve built from the ground up, and they’re people I genuinely enjoy being around (hopefully, they feel the same way about me). I spend most of my day actively working and moving my company forward, but in those gaps between the mundane daily grind, I get to spend time with my team, talking about their weeks and lives, and just having normal conversations. I also get to help these same people create careers I’ve seen so much success in, which has shaped my life as I know it today. New York Life has offered me a role that checks off every box I could imagine in a career, and being able to share that with individuals who are either new to this industry or looking for a better option than they currently have is a luxury. I can’t stress this career enough, and if it’s a leap you’ve been considering, I encourage you to take it and go all in. If you’re not sure where to start, reach out to me today, and let me help you get there. #CareerGrowth #TeamSuccess #NewYorkLife #CareerOpportunity #ReachOut

🌍 Exploring New Horizons with the GlobetrottHR Program 🌍 As part of our commitment to professional growth and cultural exchange, Melanie Löscher, a Social Media Recruiter in our German Recruiting Team, recently participated in the GlobetrottHR program, traveling from Munich to Wakefield (Boston), USA. Melly embraced this opportunity to step out of her comfort zone, connect with colleagues in a different country, and gain insights into a new working culture. "The chance to connect with my colleagues in the US and learn from their daily operations was invaluable. Hosting a Connect-Up Call on mental health with my colleague Keira Campbell, engaging in job shadowing with the whole US team, the warm welcome in the office and a basketball game at TD garden were truly memorable moments.", Melly says. The program has not only enriched Melly’s professional skills but also contributed to her personal growth. "Working in a different time zone and adapting to new environments taught me so much. It was challenging, but I found strength in creating new routines and prioritizing self-care through activities like yoga and journaling." Despite initial challenges – navigating a new city, adjusting to different time zones, and building new routines – Melly's resilience and adaptability shone through. She summarized her experience by saying: "I learned that stepping outside of familiar boundaries is where real growth happens." Are you also ready to grow? Today, we are highlighting Amaya Barrios, Assistant Manager at Magnolia Terrace for #HispanicHeritageMonth ✨What does your heritage mean to you, and how has it shaped your personal or professional life? Hispanic heritage is everything for me. It is a reflection of what my family stands for and what I believe in. It's community, pride, unity, and strength and ultimately, it’s what has led me to be the best version of myself both at home and at work. ✨What aspects of your culture are you most proud of, and how do you incorporate them into your daily life or work? Aspects of my culture that I am most proud of include family traditions, cultural traditions, resilience, creativity, and hard work. By integrating these aspects into daily personal and professional routines, I feel as though I can enrich my life and contribute positively to my environment, embracing my heritage while making meaningful impacts. ✨What advice would you give to the next generation of Hispanic professionals? Embrace your identity, pursue continuous learning, and build a strong network of mentors, peers, and industry leaders. Always seek out and create opportunities to learn and grow - do not wait for opportunities to come to you, be prepared to advocate for your own achievements and ambitions while also supporting and uplifting others around you, and strive for a healthy balance between work and personal life. By staying true to your values, continuously developing your skills, and actively engaging with your community, you can make a meaningful impact in your professional life and beyond.

👏 #Cleveland Job #roundup! 👏 What would I do if it were not for what I am doing? After a few different conversations over the past week, I wanted to share with you how I strategized around my own job search last spring. It's important to note the privilege I went into my job search with, choosing to leave a role with a buyout rather than being laid off (expectedly or unexpectedly) with many weeks notice. For that, I am and was grateful. Nevertheless, I had the opportunity to dream of what would come next. After some reflection, I thought predominantly about four different paths: non-profit executive work, chief of staff for an executive, education-adjacent work in ed tech, and going out on my own as a consultant. Networking was critical to my success and I met with as many people as I could. Jeff Culliton gave me the best advice that I've now passed on over and over again: pursue everything. And I did! I feel so fortunate to be on the other side today continuing to pursue my mission around connecting students to career (and higher ed professionals to their next steps too), but it was not without pursuing each and every avenue that I considered. So there's the advice for today...pursue it all and network with anyone and everyone. Perhaps people are feeling a little more gratitude this week; send some cold emails and ask for that virtual or in-person coffee meet up. In the meantime, consider these opportunities right here in Cleveland! ➡️ Director of Advocacy @ Collaborate Cleveland ➡️ Early Intervention/School Age Coordinator @ Milestones Autism Resources ➡️ Executive Assistant to the President/CEO @ Burton D. Morgan Foundation ➡️ Workforce Program Manager @ Manufacturing Works ➡️ Manager, Partnerships @ JMI Sports ➡️ Employer Engagement Manager @ Case Western Reserve University ➡️ Philanthropy Engagement and Special Events Administrator @ Cleveland Museum of Art #northeastohio #jobsearch #jobopportunities #highereducation #highered #jobalert #jobcoaching #support
