Joint Economic Development Districts offer a way to restructure public and private relationships from hierarchical and adversarial to more beneficial partnerships. Through tax infrastructure financing and community reinvestment, JEDDs enable communities to take part in the benefits of well-done, smart and thoughtful development. This is an ideal way in which to take the income tax revenues that are generated by new growth and then redistribute and direct it in a really smart way. Communities in Southwest Licking County have benefited from the JEDD around the SR 310 interchange in Etna Township, and this opportunity exists for communities along the SR 161 corridor such as Johnstown and Northridge. Through 1031 exchanges, owners along those corridors can reinvest money, which could lead to a ripple effect with land prices that other surrounding communities may also benefit from. #SiliconHeartland #Investment #PropertyValues #LickingCounty
