**Hurricane Francine Update** Hurricane Francine has made landfall earlier than anticipated along the Central Coast of Louisiana, bringing sustained winds of 100 mph. It has reached land as a Category 2 hurricane and is projected to move inland on a northeast trajectory between the harbors of New Orleans and Baton Rouge. **Industry Updates:** **U.S. Army Corps of Engineers:** The Corps is coordinating arrangements to deploy personnel to assess conditions at Southwest Pass and Venice tomorrow, contingent upon safety assessments. **U.S. Coast Guard:** Current Port Condition: Zulu. Vessel movements are currently prohibited on the Mississippi River from the Sea Buoy to Mile 303. Efforts are underway to strategize the reopening of the river as soon as weather conditions permit. **Pilot Associations:** Pilots are on standby and prepared to commence vessel movements once conditions improve. Although it is still early, we remain optimistic that the Lower Mississippi River (LMR) will reopen to vessel navigation and resume vessel cargo operations by Friday, September 13, 2024, at the latest.

MARC Training- The Florida MARC system is shown at the basic operators course at the Florida State Fire College. The entry level course prepares assigned operators to deploy and utilize Florida’s 8 MARC units assigned in the various regions and prepares them for more advanced roles such as COML and COMT training. MARC Units (Mutual Aid Radio Communications) often serve as search and rescue communications resources and as part of ESF2 Strike teams. MARC carries interoperability channels, radios, and associated support equipment each with a 100ft tower. Units are mobilized annually across Florida often during wildfires, planned events, and hurricanes. #hurricaneseason #interoperability

Hurricane Helene is being blamed for more than 50 deaths and billions of dollars in destruction across the southeast U.S. Over 800 Red Cross workers are already on the ground, offering shelter, meals, relief supplies, emotional support, safety and comfort to those who were impacted. The Red Cross has also sent truckloads of supplies, hundreds of blood products to Florida to ensure blood remains available for patients in the areas impacted by Hurricane Helene and have deployed numerous emergency response vehicles (ERV) to help in needed areas. In just the past 48 hours, the Red Cross has opened or supported more than 140 shelters for nearly 9,400 individuals who have evacuated their homes. Red Cross teams managed 50 of these shelters overnight and supported more than 80 partner shelters with staff and supplies. Hundred thousands of hot meals, meals ready-to-eat, snacks and comfort kits are expected to be distributed in the coming weeks to those who were affected by Helene. As many as 12 million people are still without power across impacted states while millions others are dealing with the devastation left behind by Hurricane Helene. We all woke up to varying degrees of relief, loss and/or recovery. Some came through unscathed while some of us lost everything. If you need immediate help, please call 1-800-REDCROSS or 1-800-733-2767-24 hours a day or your local Red Cross office. To find your local Red Cross office, please click https://lnkd.in/ePbh5zxr. If you are lucky enough to escape Helene unscathed and would like to donate to the Red Cross relief efforts, please contact me for additional info or click on: https://lnkd.in/e5ZXQPkh Businesses can also get involved and help with relief efforts. There are many ways that you can get involved. To maximize the impacts and to minimize duplicating efforts already been taken, please contact me for additional info. Cali is such a valuable piece of IP, different media brands sell, daily, stories of impending doom and boom to a ravenous global audience. I offer a solid $1 an acre for all your soon-to-be worthless Cali real estate. Somehow Oxnard (AKA West Malibu in real estate porn jargon), a place riddled with gang injunctions, military derelicts and pretty good air, if an iffy electricity supply, has become America's fifth most expensive place to buy a house. My strong advice to those who've never been to Oxnard: spare yourself the exercise. Life is too short. https://lnkd.in/gU6HArz5

#Stadiums and arenas have long served as vital locations for #community #reliefandrecovery efforts during natural disasters like #hurricanes and #earthquakes, as well as human-made crises such as #terrorism and health emergencies like the #pandemic. A new #partnership between FEMA and the National Football League (NFL) introduces a #preparedness and #planning program designed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of these venues in future response efforts. Involvement in the program allows for a stadium to be designated as a "Mission Ready Venue." Important work by #FEMA, #NFL, and everyone contributing insight to this project. And another example of the #socialimpact and #communitybenefits of #SportsInCities.

Helping the world understand wildfire resilience, prevention, and mitigation || Wildfire chemicals || Wildfire prevention technologies || Aerial firefighting & fleet development
I am so excited to see these assets finally being deployed. The unfortunate reality is that they were needed and would have been most effective when these fires were just being reported. Follow up on the ground is so important, so it's also wonderful to see the firefighters there in the background of the video. Moving forward it's critical that state and federal legislators and agencies really understand when and where aircraft can be effective. The name of the game for agencies in wildfire is RAPID INITIAL ATTACK. The name of the game for home and property owners is BE PROACTIVE, LIVE FIREWISE. If we do this together, the fire service can concentrate on perimeter control, versus structure protection. When fires are this large, suppression resources are spread thin, often to a point of ineffectiveness. Every minute counts.

More than heroes. They're our firefighters. International Firefighters' Day is observed annually on May 4th. It honors firefighters around the world for their bravery, service, and sacrifice. History: Established in 1999 after five Australian firefighters died tragically in a wildfire. The date coincides with Saint Florian's Day, the patron saint of firefighters. Firefighters are courageous men and women who risk their lives to save others from fires and other emergencies. They are highly trained professionals who work long hours and are always on call. Firefighters perform a variety of duties, including: ~ Responding to fire alarms and extinguishing fires ~ Rescuing people and animals from burning buildings and other dangerous situations ~ Providing medical aid to the injured ~ Educating the public about fire safety and prevention Firefighters are essential members of our communities, and they play a vital role in keeping us safe. www.tycoonstory.com #firefighters #firefighterlife #firedepartment #firefighterstrong #thankyoufirefighters #heroesinred #alwaysoncall #firerescue #fireprevention #internationalfirefightersday #volunteerfirefighter #womenfirefighters #firefightertraining #firetruck #firestation #firehose #iaff #localheroes #firefighterhumor #firerescueteam TYCOONSTORY International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF)

You should know we're going to repost any story about tough ass equipment and dogs - especially when the story involves training dogs to save lives! "Why not support a nonprofit organization that is committed to rescuing man's best friend and developing them into life-saving resources? After all, Bobcat knows a thing or two about tough animals." Bobcat Company - the answer is there is zero reason not to. #constructionequipment #equipmentfinancing
