Did you know that NPI partners with ATF and the Bureau of Justice Assistance to offer Crime Gun Intelligence Centers (CGIC)? CGIC is a national initiative that supports local multidisciplinary teams in preventing violent crimes involving guns. It's a collaborative effort between local, state, and federal agencies to improve the quality of investigations by making ballistic evidence more actionable and lead-generating. Ultimately, CGIGs help identify prolific offenders and work with local and federal stakeholders to arrest and prosecute them—removing them from the community they harmed. 🚩 Today, June 7, is 𝙂𝙪𝙣 𝙑𝙞𝙤𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝘿𝙖𝙮. 🚩 Gun violence impacts all segments of the community we serve, and its effects reverberate throughout all of society. In 2023, our Police Department's flagship Threat Assessment Management Unit recovered 1,192 firearms, including 223 firearms seized under Virginia’s Emergency Substantial Risk Order law, commonly known as a Red Flag law. From fare evaders to violent criminals, your NYPD officers are meeting the challenge. We won’t let up. @NYCMayor & @NYPDPC have been clear from day 1. Public safety is their top priority. 2% of all citywide crime occurs in the subway- but one incident is one too many! Year to date enforcement in the subway system: - Arrests are ⬆️ +45.6% (3694 vs 2520) - Gun arrests ⬆️ +112.5% (17 vs 8) - Cutting instrument arrests ⬆️ +53% (332 vs 217) - TAB summonses are ⬆️ 22.4% (37,212 vs 30,414)

Seconds matter. The early detection of a firearm can save lives. We are saddened by the events that occurred this weekend aimed at our former POTUS. There is no place for violence within politics, nor within our schools where active shooter situations have become all too familiar. Premier law enforcement agencies have evaluated ROC as superior at recognizing brandished short guns, long guns, and persons of interest. These detections, evaluated in head-to-head tests against leading industry competitors, can be enabled by standard video cameras often part of existing infrastructure. Cameras deployed without ROC weapons and threat detection do very little to prevent an incident from occurring. ROC is tested daily in mission-critical environments, proving that instant detection can in fact save lives — by providing rapid alerts and proactive intelligence to law enforcement and first responders.
