One of my last studies was recently published in Sport Management Review. In this research, I showed how community-level LGBTQ+ bias was related to lower attendance at WNBA games, even after accounting for performance measures. You can access it here: https://lnkd.in/e42BjvFA.

On International Transgender Day of Visibility, we stand united in acknowledgment of the discrimination and challenges that persist. 🏳️⚧️ This day is a call to action. As we honour the resilience of the transgender community, we also recognize our collective responsibility to stand up against discrimination, be vocal advocates and allies, and actively champion equality. Being an ally involves understanding, empathy, and support. We must continue to educate ourselves on the issues that transgender people face, challenge stereotypes, and actively listen to and learn from the experiences of transgender individuals. We’ll continue to create inclusive spaces that uplift and empower, ensuring that transgender voices are heard and valued on the waterfront and beyond. #TransgenderDayOfVisibility #LGBTQIA2S #TransDayOfVisibility #Allyship #Allies #StandUpForEquality #AllyshipMatters

I am really proud to be part of The Pharmacists' Defence Association team always stepping in to do the right thing #valuesbasedleadership #pharmacyleadership #pharmacylife #pharmacy #idahobit2024 #pdalgbt

Transgender Day of Visibility Each year on March 31, the world observes Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) to raise awareness about transgender people. It is a day to celebrate the lives and contributions of trans people, while also drawing attention to the poverty, discrimination, and violence the community faces. International TDOV was created in 2010 by trans advocate Rachel Crandall. Crandall, the head of Transgender Michigan, created TDOV in response to the overwhelming majority of media stories about transgender people being focused on violence. She hoped to create a day where people could celebrate the lives of transgender people, while still acknowledging that due to discrimination, not every trans person can or wants to be visible. #transgenderdayofvisibility #transgenderawareness #transgenderrights #transgenderrightsarehumanrights #TDOV2024
