✨TREND 4/12 Involvement in #charity and #volunteering is growing steadily. #Ukrainians direct most of their support to the Armed Forces of #Ukraine. Over the past year, the number of people who help through volunteering, defense activities and support of the frontline has doubled. This growth is due to those who wanted to join in - the results of Gradus Research showed that the number of those who only intended to join in but did not do so decreased compared to last year. Military purposes have become the top charitable donations, with almost two-thirds of Ukrainians donating to them. Such a significant level of involvement in supporting the Armed Forces once again confirms the high level of trust in them. 💡Today, the world celebrates Charity Day. 🌏 Every year, the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) compiles a ranking of countries that are most involved in charity. This year, #Ukraine took 7th place. And in 2023, it will be the second. This year, #Germany is in 37th place. I wonder why it's not higher? 💫 I remember the times when having a charity foundation in Ukraine was a sign of #status. Only a few people helped sincerely and silently. And since 2014, it has become a sign that you are aware of the country's agenda. It was then that #Euromaidan happened, and the #war between russia and Ukraine began, but it was called an anti-terrorist operation. Since that year, we have started to speak out loud about the psychological problems of the military and civilians. It was then that people began to unite because they realized that state institutions were not coping with the challenges of society. It was then that famous people began to use their popularity to help, because helping became a sign of fulfillment. 💪🏼I don't know where we would be now without volunteers, without patrons and ordinary people who donate. And I am very pleased that the charity index continues to grow, obviously as people's empathy, as understanding of the importance of #community unity, as willingness to #support. ✅ You can see the charity index of your country in the table below 👇 ❓ Tell about your experience with charity. Recently, many western countries appear to have hesitated in their support of Ukraine. In my opinion, the timing couldn't be worse as: 1. Chinese/Russian strategic and military cooperation has deepened recently, 2. Iran is still able to deliver a steady stream of Shahed-drones, enabling blind terrorism aimed at the civilian population in Ukraine and 3. (obviously subject to confirmation), North Korean troops now appear in Russia and are expected to join the war against Ukraine. I would be glad if you read the below message from Harri. He runs a non-profit organisation (https://linktr.ee/1t1f) in Estonia, delivering drones and other equipment to the front line. Today he sent me a message and explained: "The current situation at the front is extremely volatile and extremely difficult! Most of the directions Kursk, Kupiansk, Chasiv-Yar/Toretsk, Pokrovsk, Kurakhova Russians are pushing hard and gaining ground and advancing bit by bit! The Ukrainian army first of all don’t have enough ammunition for artillery, lack of air defence systems which would hold Russian jets further away from bombing with glide bombs, same applies to F-16ns and good air to air missiles! In Kurakhova, Toretsk and Pokrovsk area Russians are trying to do what they did with Bakhmut, Avdiivka and now recently Vuhledar! They are slowly trying to encircle the cities! Overall situation is extremely difficult, because of lack of weapons support from west and lack of training for new recruits! Ukraine has lost a lot of their best fighters since the beginning of the war!" With the US election coming up - Western support to Ukraine might face further headwinds.
