We’re thrilled to highlight the innovative work of a talented research team in the field of Robotics! They’ve enhanced a hexapod robot’s stability on uneven terrain by designing a PID controller. Utilizing an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), specifically the MPU6050, they accurately compute roll and pitch angles. Their approach also includes precomputed inverse kinematics to translate control signals into precise actuator movements. Additionally, microswitches serve as touch sensors, improving the robot’s interaction with its environment. This integrated methodology results in minimal errors and consistent stability, even on difficult landscapes. At Moonpreneur, our Innovator Program is helping young minds grasp the fundamentals of microcontrollers through our Robotics course. By engaging with advanced technologies, students are equipped with the skills to lead future innovations. 🌟 Exciting Update from IFRA-Cranfield! 🌟 Last August, Dr Seemal Asif CENG FHEA MIET and our researcher Mikel Bueno Viso had the opportunity to present our latest research at the ROS-Industrial Developers Meeting (ROS-Industrial Europe). The presentation covered our groundbreaking work on ROS 2-Framework for a Flexible and Reconfigurable Robot Cell Design. 🔍 About the Research: Today's robot manipulators are often designed for specific, prolonged tasks, which limits their flexibility and reconfiguration capabilities. Our research at IFRA-Cranfield aims to overcome this limitation by developing a ROS 2-based software framework that supports hardware/software-agnostic and fully reconfigurable robotic systems. This framework facilitates: - Seamless integration of various robots, automation tools, and AI. - Consistent and intuitive control of robot arms, irrespective of their manufacturer or model. - Fast reconfiguration of robotic systems to adapt to changing production demands and market dynamics. 🎯 Our goal in presenting this work was to share the latest advancements in ROS 2 for the simulation and control of robot manipulators. You can explore more about our work through the IFRA-Cranfield/ros2_SimRealRobotControl repository on our GitHub page, which includes ROS 2 packages for the simulation and control of various robot arms. 📽️ Watch the full presentation on the ROS-Industrial YouTube channel: https://lnkd.in/eQMni3pJ It’s a pleasure for us at IFRA Cranfield to contribute to the ROS 2 community with our research, and we look forward to continued collaboration with ROS-Industrial. 🔧 Call to Action: We encourage the Robotics & Automation Research Community to join us in advancing intelligent and flexible robot simulation and control technologies using ROS 2! #Robotics #Automation #ROS2 #IFRACranfield #Manufacturing #Innovation #RobotControl #ReconfigurableSystems #Research Cranfield University

Friday Wenglor Fact of the Week! Diving into vision-guided robotics can be both thrilling and challenging. The team at wenglor sensoric group is pushing the limits to make system deployment as seamless as possible. Thanks to advancements in software and hardware, a wide range of applications is now achievable. For example, a client requested a trade fair demo where a dice would be tossed into a tray and would track the numbers. I decided to push the boundaries and see what was possible. Application Details: ➡ Mount Distance: 9 feet. ➡ Tracking: Detect numbers from 0 to 9, outputting the four most relevant numbers for selection. ➡ Trigger: Live, with real-time output. The result? A fun, simple game of spinning a D20 dice and reading the number on top. Best of all, mounting the camera took more time than teaching the system to recognize the numbers and complete the task! #robotics #automation #engineering #machinevision #innovation #vgr
