Turns out we aren't the only ones who know the Daggett Clean Energy Complex is special!
Last night, Dan Hendrick and Brandon M. Tarbert represented Clearway at the prestigious Reuters Events Energy Transition Awards ceremony to accept the Decarbonization Excellence Award for our 482 MW solar and 280 MW storage facility in San Bernardino County, California. ☀ 🔋 🏆
Our Daggett solar and storage facility generates enough reliable clean electricity to power over 180,000 homes each year. Congratulations to the Daggett team and the many partners and customers who contribute to Daggett’s excellence! 🎉

🌞🔋 Exciting news! Silicon Ranch and Middle Tennessee Electric are shining a light on renewable energy in Tennessee. 🌱 This dynamic partnership is producing the largest solar project in the Tennessee Valley to date—the 110-MW Copeland Solar Farm!
This groundbreaking venture, part of the TVA Generation Flexibility Program, reflects a remarkable collaboration to bring sustainable energy solutions to over 750,000 customers. Silicon Ranch's commitment to agrivoltaics is not just powering homes but fueling the growth of local communities.
🛠️ Set to be completed by late 2027, the project exemplifies innovation and dedication to renewable solutions by both MTE, America's second-largest electric co-op, and Silicon Ranch, the nation's agrivoltaic leader.
This is more than just energy; it's about meeting members' needs with forward-thinking strategies. 💡
Let's applaud MTE's vision and Silicon Ranch's drive to foster a more resilient Tennessee Valley.
Are you ready for a greener tomorrow? ☀️💚

Really enjoyed the conversation we had at GridTECH Connect Forum about DER interconnection, challenges/successes, and how all stakeholders can collaborate moving forward to accelerate DER’s in the Southeast.
Here are some takeaways from our panel discussion:
1) When developers receive their feasibility study/initial results from the utility, they have a good idea of the economic viability of project based on the projected upgrades and initial IC upgrade costs.
2) Administrative burdens are lengthening study timelines, whereas the studies aren’t taking the most time in the “interconnection process.” Developers have a duty to understand the interconnecting utility’s interconnection application requirements and submit completed packages. Utilities should also invest in innovating their application process, creating online portals for IC requests and payments to be sent. The more we can cut down on the back and forth between parties, the quicker projects can come online.
3) If utilities can publish their queued projects on the distribution system, this would greatly help developers in submitting “keeper projects” (credit to Gerald Warchol [PE] for that term) or projects that have minimal upgrades/costs. From a developer perspective, the more information we can get before submitting projects, the better projects we'll submit!
Big thanks to John Engel, Paul Gerke, Katie Kuzma and the entire Clarion Events team for putting this event together. Events like this that contribute to the ongoing discussion surrounding interconnection and how we solve this bottleneck are needed! Looking forward to the next one.
