Cleaned the garden at the weekend.
What's this got to do with Recruitment?
Gardens and Recruitment are both COMPLEX systems.
So, if you feel frustrated by the really dirty chairs, moss covered patio, and moldy table, it is because you like me have not tended to your garden for many months.
💢 Now my solution was what my better half called;
"You're just power washing the whole bloody garden....watch, it's going everywhere...are you going to clean that now, too?!" 😂
So, what's the lesson?
Now, I've got the dirty off the garden (and on me), I must use a gentle brush and maybe a little soap in a bucket on a more regular basis to keep it clean.
The same is true of your Career or Hiring strategy.... if you wait until things are urgent, it's going to get messy aka frustrating.
If you were to look today (when you don't need a new role), would you get half as messy filling in pointless applications and attending assessment interviews... probably not....so, what could you do?
And, if you find yourself desperate for a new role, you might need to scrub a little harder with the brush, but I would put down the power washer every so often.
If you're in Sales can you relate to this?
