Yesterday marked the exciting start of our fall semester practicum! We kicked things off by presenting our ‘This is Me' slides and speed networking, helping everyone get to know each other and start forming those team bonds. We're eager to see all the incredible work that will unfold this fall and can’t wait for the first-ever LSP picnic on Thursday!

We like to think we Modern humans are the pinnacle of creation, the smartest hominids that have ever walked this Planet. A long time there were two avenues a Creative person could take. One was the hard work and dedication of Apprenticeship; where relationships/trust were built over time and you earned respect from your actions. The other choice was much easier, you would always be fed/warm; however your MIND would belong to someone else. This choice was called Patronage. Decide what type of Creative you want to be. One that just makes whatever the Machine asks, or the one that makes the Machine! Have a great week and try to spend a little time contemplating your OWN future, you may be surprised at what a little self reflection can accomplish. ✌🏼🤔

Next week is Learning Difficulties Awareness Week. Let’s discuss eliminating labels and predicted expectations for young individuals with learning difficulties. Why? Because our beginnings don’t define our potential for the future. This week marks 10 years since I graduated from Sunnydown School. My GCSE results were modest, my career expectation was to be a barista at Starbucks, and my next step was pursuing functional skills exams. At the time, I was told not to worry. Now, 10 years later, I am the founder of my own podcast and brand. I’ve shared my story on the TEDx stage, in the National Press, and at multiple panel events. I work at a top advertising agency and completed my apprenticeship with Distinction. This journey is a testament to the fact that our beginnings do not define our potential. It’s not about where you start, but how you use your unique perspective and strengths to create your path. Let’s empower every individual who has a learning difficulty to embrace their journey without limits. Our potential is boundless, and our achievements can defy all expectations.

Intern Spotlight (and birthday shoutout!) for our very own Joshua Weidenfeller. When Joshua's friends ask what he does at work he says that he connects with healthcare leaders and facilitates meaningful conversations that help our team understand how we can best help our partners better understand their patients throughout their care journey. However, during lunch this summer, he found time to have some fun. One of his favorite NRC Health memories was having sandwich-eating competitions with fellow interns. Joshua thanks Business Development Manager, Dillon McKinney as one of his most impactful mentors. "Working on the type of accounts Business Development Executives work on has given me a unique perspective on how large deals come to fruition, and what it takes from a sales professional side to push the deal across the finish line." Joshua's Fun Facts: -His favorite book is Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne. -When he was younger he wanted to become a business owner, not in any specific area. -His favorite thing about going to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is how big the campus is. It is great for walking around, and there are many areas to sit and do homework. #NRCHealthHavePurpose #NRCHealthFeelConnected

Monthly FUNGI Media company update…coming out of September 👇👇👇 Wins 🏆 1. Big social series win for Midwest Express Clinic - we did the creative and production for brand sponsorship featuring Bulls player Coby White (check out the links in comments) 2. Launched a product for our client Knauf North America where we led the creative campaign with Tell Your Story . 3. We had our first apprentice Katherine DeBoor aka Kat join us - we call our apprenticeship program “spores” that we just launched this year 🚀 Learnings (some personal)🍄 1. Role clarity is everything for the team - without it, you have too many meetings trying to fix things. I’m totally focused on that right now. 2. Sometimes you gotta slow down to speed up - when we’re busy, we can focus on the task of the day instead of the mission for the month. I’m learning when to hit the breaks and check the tire pressure and oil at least weekly 🚘 3. I like being involved in the work, especially getting to be on camera from time to time, it’s a passion of mine. Gotta find ways to run the biz while scratching the itches 🎥 What’s next 🎃 We have our second annual Halloween Howl on October 23rd be there. It’s gonna be the first time I have all of the team in the same physical location. Show up!
