Cleveland Cavaliers good work - now time to sign Okoro. We're simply a better team (plus/minus) when he is on the court and his numbers improve dramatically every single year. A key part of team chemistry from my view point having attended 40+ games last year.
Great - but again, he needs a Robin so we don’t run into the same early years issues of a one-star team! Let’s see what Koby and Dan can do to help him!
Never one to step away from a hot button issue, Frank M. Giantomasi of CSG Law recently weighed in on the whirlwind romance of Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce at Sunday’s game against the Jets. Frank, a Jets season ticket holder and a lifelong fan, told The Washington Post that he’s been at “a lot of half-empty games” but the buzz around #Traylor (or #Tayvis if you prefer) may have helped inspire more people to show up for the Jets. https://ow.ly/aMs750PTa9E
Detroit Pistons fans, have you been keeping up with Jaden Ivey's performance this week? On Wednesday, he started against the Los Angeles Lakers, playing 19 minutes. The following day, he came off the bench against the New York Knicks, playing 13 minutes. In a recent vlog, I discussed how the Pistons have accumulated talent rather than built a complementary team, leading to redundancy in their roster. While Alec Burks may be a better fit next to Cade Cunningham, the player they're building around, I believe Jaden Ivey should start. Check out the link to my vlog where I discuss the Pistons, player development, the importance of the starting lineup, asset depreciation, and the trajectory of OJ Mayo. Let's keep the conversation going!

AMERICA’S TEAM? NOT NOW. NOT EVER.
By Peter M. DeLorenzo
... But the way the Lions lost was beyond excruciating. Defensive lapses, poor play calling, dropped passes, lucky breaks (that deflected pass that was caught by the 49er player) and just a huge letdown by the team when they absolutely couldn’t afford it. For long-suffering Lions fans around these parts and across the state, it was beyond painful. It wasn’t just a loss; it was a crushing, breathtaking, gut-wrenching body slam to the senses.
But in spite of all of this, the things I can do without is all of the relentless post-game hand-wringing. The woulda-coulda-shoulda of all of it is just stupid and a giant waste of time. Coach Campbell called the game exactly like he did the entire season, good and bad. It is what it is, and it can’t be reversed in some cosmic time warp, so we will all move on. At least we should anyway.
Oh, and one more thing, this business of calling the Detroit Lions the new “America’s Team” is just too much unmitigated bullshit for me. That’s not who we are by any stretch of the imagination.
As I’ve written previously: The deal on Detroit is this:
Is this a tough town? Unquestionably. Are things on an upward trajectory? If you’re purely looking at the automobile industry that lives here, yes and no. But when looking at the health of the city and its environs, and the deep-rooted problems that plague this city and its educational system, the ones that are preventing this city from doing anything but a dismal, two-steps forward, five-back self-defeating dance of "progress," then we have a long, long, long way to go.

Awesome time this morning at Capital Club, hearing about the NFL, MLB, and NBA from an officiating perspective (Fred Bryan from the NFL, Kenny Mauer Jr. of the NBA and Tim Tschida from MLB ).
Thank you, Patrick Klinger, for making it happen!
Some takeaways/snippets:
1. Everyone on the field/court is making business decisions - officials are often seen as hindering those business decisions (ruining playoff appearances, cutting into stats, etc.)....in reality, not that different to how most attorneys are viewed 🤣 (which is also why we do things differently at Seiler Law PLLC as we all come from the business sector first).
2. "The next best thing to competing and winning is competing and losing." - Kenny Mauer
3. Narrow focus (within a larger vision) often helps you get where you want to go - be the best ump on the field...this game, this inning, this pitch.
4. Change is inevitable, growth is optional.
5. A career in officiating is often one of circumstance, and that's okay, has led to great careers and life experiences. Sometimes the random yes gets you where you need to go.

You Don’t Have to Be First Choice
Congratulations!
And it doesn’t matter if you’re the first choice as long as you get chosen.
What do they call the medical (or in my case, doctoral) program graduate with the lowest GPA?
Doctor.
We all know Ringo wasn’t the first Beatles drummer. Does it matter that Hugh Jackman was not the first choice to play Wolverine in the X-Men movies? Or that Bryan Cranston was not the first choice to play Walter White in Breaking Bad? Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City? Not the first idea. Bruce Willis was far from the first choice to play John McClane in Die Hard.
How much of that is due to effort and persistence and surprise talents of those third or fourth (or in GOAT quarterback Tom Brady’s case, 199th) choices, those small fish in big ponds, those finishers gasping and lunging across the finish line?
All you need is the opportunity. Once you have the opportunity, make the most of what you do with it, to be the best solution to somebody’s problem.
It’s always possible that what COULD have been WOULD have been better than what WAS, but it’s awfully hard to imagine. So welcome to the party, pal!
Think about your opportunity, not about why or whether you were the second or third or fourth choice.
What do you think? (Or do you have any examples that are less than 15 years old?)
See you tomorrow!

If you have more than one offer, you won’t scale.
7 days ago, Dwayne Clarke and I attended Clay Atlanta.
What an eye-opener it was to meet guys like Alex Fine🌲 and David Dollar who are way ahead of us in their careers. In fact, so humbling that we decided to scrap everything else and focus solely on AI-based Cold Outbound using Clay.
We were trying to do too much because we were afraid. eCommerce, Lead Gen, Creative Agency…In the early stages of business there’s always the FOMO.
“But if I offer more services, it should bring us more business, right?”
Wrong, most of the time.
When you spread out your intellectual and human resources, you end up becoming mediocre at everything.
Dwayne and I focused only on serving our 3PL Client All Points for the last 6 months, which gave us a deep understanding of the Logistics industry.
The result? We beat the industry average every time in a demand capture market like logistics.
Pick one thing, and get really good at it. Don’t waver.

Live from Clay Atlanta!
Really awesome event. It was a special feeling being recognized immediately by Dwayne Clarke upon arrival. He came all the way from Toronto and came right up to me and had some very kind words about Understory and the content we put out.
It means the world to me knowing that Ali and I have built a globally recognized brand in the space. Honestly, it's one of the proudest accomplishments of my life.
Dwayne is super sharp, and has nothing but greatness in his future. Given that he's only 20 years old, I wouldn't be surprised to see big things from him in the future.
Here he is explaining how he connects n8n and various webhooks to Clay to a bunch of normies.
Legend in the making. Thank you for making my night Dwayne.
