Secondary endpoints included intraoperative remifentanil consumption, whether there was a cough within 5 min after extubation and the cough scores, postoperative pain scores, the incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV). Recent research has revealed that bariatric surgery can significantly improve outcomes for patients with obesity and obstructive sleep apnea. The study highlights: 42% lower risk of major adverse cardiovascular events 37% lower risk of death for patients who undergo metabolic surgery. Additionally, those who lost more than 10% of their body weight experienced even better results. The study underscores the profound impact of weight-loss surgery on reducing heart event risks and improving overall survival rates.
