🌟 Back from China!
I am back from ChinaJoy and OMG, it was a great trip and very insightful! 🎮✨ I will try my best to share some pictures and videos in the next posts, but for now, a quick summary of this huge event:
🌍 International Reach: According to the Shanghai government, this year had a staggering 367,000 fans over four action-packed days, welcoming 8,200 overseas visitors from 31 countries and regions – making ChinaJoy the biggest in the world (Gamescom last year had 320k).
🏢 Massive Scale: The event hosted 743 exhibitors, with big brands and sponsors, taking up all 17 exhibition halls of the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) – a capacity of 200,000 square meters indoor and 100,000 square meters outdoor exhibition area.
🔄 Comprehensive Segments: It had B2C (fans and players) and B2B sections, alongside CDEC (China Digital Entertainment Congress) and CGDC (China Game Developers Conference) in the adjacent Shanghai Kerry Hotel complex.
📊 Well Organized: Exhibitors were grouped into categories, showcasing mobile hardware, mobile OS, community-related apps, peripherals, payment solutions, and of course, many developers, publishers, media channels, etc. All are part of this huge gaming ecosystem.
In short, it was a great experience, and I hope to go back more often. We even have plans to expand and take more people next time. (Please let us know if you are interested in this.)

Last month, Ticketmaster, the world’s leading ticket marketplace, acquired South Africa’s Quicket, a major player in Africa’s general admission event and festival ticketing. This ambitious move by Ticketmaster will strengthen their presence on the continent and offer innovative ticketing solutions for events of all sizes.
Other events show that the live entertainment sector is reaching maturity, such as the strategic partnership between IFC - International Finance Corporation, Proparco, and Helios to boost investments in the sports and cultural sectors in Africa or the recently signed partnership between Teskerti and Fnac in Tunisia.

What an incredible days at last week’s International Ticketing Association(INTIX) conference.
The event always leaves us feeling inspired, and this special 45th-anniversary edition was certainly no different.
This year, we were extremely excited to have been invited to take part. SECUTIX’s General Manager of the Americas, Michael McDermott, helped kick off the conference as part of the Opening & Welcome General Session, before hosting a talk which explored the topic: Revolutionizing the Game: The Strategic Shift to In-House Ticketing in European Sports and Entertainment and why the US Market is Primed for This Change.

UnUsUaL Limited (UnUsUaL) recently caught my attention due to
a) It has slumped approximately 29% from $0.170 on 30 May to touch $0.120 on 16 - 17 Jul;
b) Married deals of 19m shares transacted at $0.120 on 19 Jul and 1.6m shares at $0.125 on 22 Jul;
c) Andy Lau is reportedly going to sing in Singapore.
For the above point c), UnUsUaL announced yesterday on their Facebook yesterday noon that Andy Lau will be coming to Singapore for four nights from 10 - 13 Oct at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Given the above developments, it may arguably be a good time to take a closer look into UnUsUaL. UnUsUaL closed at $0.130 today.

P.S: If we were to refer back to 2023, where UnUsUaL first announced Jacky Cheung’s six concerts on 24 Apr 2023 with the tickets available for purchase on 26 Apr 2023, UnUsUaL’s share price rocketed 36% from $0.143 on 24 Apr 2023 to an intraday high of $0.194 in five trading days. Although there are apparent differences between Jacky Cheung’s concert and Andy Lau, there may still be some positive reaction to the share price. Please click the above link for more.

I wish we had more large-scale events like this in Chile.

💬I’m moderating a panel on Thursday morning about monetising traffic beyond ‘traditional’ models, so please do come by - there’s a lot to uncover there and it will make for a fascinating discussion.
🎮This event is focused on all things #casino, and we’ve tried to ensure that apart from meeting a bunch of game studios on the expo floor, you can come away from the event with practical solutions and takeaways on how you can stand out in this competitive landscape. We have creativity and design workshops and hackathons lined up, so do take a look at the website to find out what this event has to offer. And! We will have streamers on the expo floor testing new releases, so make sure to stop by and watch them in action.
