Future-proof tourism (in the Alps) - how to fix it? With yet another App? Hmm... Do I, we, take a moment to pause, to grasp at least the notion of complex relations, before we quick-act in the daily rush? It's an interesting reflection of how "we" are somewhat stuck in our cultural belief that "technology" will fix our problems. It's simple, stupid! ? Problems of systemic nature, such as climate change, biodiversity loss, political extreme populism, territorial conflicts, even personal crises.... are complex problems, they are non-linear and emergent. There is no quick fix (neither by best tech nor by best data), but there are ways to enact and understand oneself/us as part of such systemic challenges - over time, fuzzy, messy, where tech and cultures interweave (simplified). This is not how our dominant (Western) worldviews have been training us. We are participating in an experiment of real-time observing a public voting for "climate solutions" to "future-proof tourism": what is on offer to vote for, what is visible in what gets the most votes, and what are some potential underlying patterns? What should fix it, the mass tourism problem and its negative side effects - while nurturing the positive ones? - A new mode of (public) transport, being a little less polluting, a little more comfortable? Do we still believe "we", the mass, switches to go public with some tuning in its part-comfort, rather than needing a complete redesign of the transport system, including luggage transport, privacy, costs, the last mile - so we build new travel cultures ? - A new equipment product allowing one single tourism activity to be a little less polluting? We have the most eco skis on the market, for example, since many years - but no-one buys them. Surprise? - A shelter to get closer with nature as an experience (to understand us as being nature as well)? Will this affect the mass who likes comfort? - A service to rent equipment instead of buying? Are we there to switch our culturally engrained individualism? - Another mapping app that guides us differently, off the beaten path? Will it create new beaten paths and Instagram sites? Not that I am mistaken here - I believe these are all good ideas and approaches, and it is always worth to improve the elements. Yet they won't fix it, simply because we are facing here (with the tourism case) a wicked problem, which requires systemic intervention processes "scaling deep and scaling out", where the systemic nature of the problem is addressed. This is not simple, not quick, not easy. How do we vote? For what we quickly grasp in the short time we give to it. For what feels "safe", what we are trained and used to see. A concrete "product". What needs more attention are subtle, underlying-patterns addressing "mycelium-like" process curations which transform a system from within. They take time to understand. They synergize elements and eventually build cultures. Here is our chance to practice systemic voting.

Our CEO, Philipp Lehner, attended yesterday's Destination Camp in the Festspielhaus in Bregenz. 🙌 Together with Harald Katzmair, Owner & Founder FAS Research, and Urs Treuthardt, Owner & Founder occursus.eu, he discussed the topic of sustainability in tourism. Specifically, they explored how tourism and internationally active companies can learn from each other. 🌱 One of the main topics of the discussion was that decisions should always be made based on data, as we do when we communicate about sustainability. 📊 #FamilyOfPioneers #Sustainability #Packaging #SustainablePackaging #CircularEconomy #Recycling #PlasticIsFantastic #Tourism #DestinationCamp #DSTNCMP DSTNCMP

Project Manager, Executive Director، Researcher of Cultural and Rural Tourism. new look at tourism, culture, and art
Practical action to protect, revive and promote the culture and art of the nations of the world. "Quad –Garden of Culture" Cultural, artistic, recreational, and tourism complex A completely new and innovative idea in a green, fun, and eco-friendly environment away from urban problems. Honouring Cultural Heritage The Future of responsible tourism The arrival of international tourists has increased from 25 million people in 1950 to 1459 million people in 2019 worldwide. However, during the past 70 years, no practical measures have been taken to protect, revive, and promote the cultural diversity of the world's nations (human intangible cultural heritage). The uniqueness of people and place, culture and heritage, community, and tradition remain the cornerstones of modern travel and tourism. If tourism is to grow responsibly, sustainably, and equitably, we must protect and preserve these assets that traditionally draw visitors to our project. From cultural heritage to cultural and creative industries, Culture is both an enabler and a driver of the economic, social, and environmental dimensions of sustainable development. My goal is to protect, revive and promote the culture and art (intangible cultural heritage) of different nations of the world. Discovering cultural treasures, ancient traditions, diverse food and lifestyles, manners and everything is the lifestyle of our ancestors. minimum of 30 million people per year for this project. I am ready to work with a European group to jointly implement this project. #change #culture #art #tourismtag #sustainable #QuadGardenofCulture #development #culturalheritagetourism #intangibleheritage #internationaldevelopment #unesco #sustainabletourism #tourismhub #creativetourism #foodtourism #Ruraltourism #tourism4sdgs #innovation #gastronomy #futureisbright #CreativeTourism #sdgs2030 #impactinvesting #FutureofTourism #tourismdeclares #internationalbusiness #Innovation #Creativity #regenerativetourism #investment #ideas #TurismoRESET #UNWTO #InvestinginPeople #planet #prosperity #SDGs #culturaltourism #handicrafts #travel #tourismdeclares. #culturalheritagemanagement #futureoftourism #TheTourismSociety #WTTC #UNAgenda2030 #WNCAF #RedefiningTourism #CulturalRevival

Like the mermaids in tales of old 🧜♀️, our stunning coasts and ocean lure tourists from across Australia and around the world. Marine tourism: 💰 pours tens of billions of dollars into Australia’s economy 🏖️ supports livelihoods and coastal communities around our vast shoreline ✅ depends on healthy beaches and ocean ecosystems. A growing number of Australia's operators are merging tourism with sustainability. Many are offering opportunities to engage in citizen science and genuine restoration activities. These opportunities: 🤿 provide unique, memorable tourism experiences 🦀 protect and restore our ocean ecosystems 🌊 benefit both people and planet. That's why we're working with the tourism industry and others to develop Australia's Sustainable Ocean Plan. We are still alive! Today, it’s the Global Tourism Resilience Day and it’s a good opportunity to remember all the difficulties that the tourism industry faces and focus on our strengths. Economic crises, pandemics, wars and many more difficulties face the tourism industry but it’s still alive! We are still alive because tourism connects people with nature and creates memories and sustainable tourism can benefit the local community, the local environment, and the local economy. Global Tourism Resilience Day (17 February), aims to emphasize the need to foster resilient tourism development to deal with shocks, taking into account the vulnerability of the tourism sector to emergencies. It is also a call for action for Member States to develop national strategies for rehabilitation after disruptions, including through private-public cooperation and the diversification of activities and products. The UN states that: “Sustainable tourism, including ecotourism, is a cross-cutting activity that can contribute to the three dimensions of sustainable development and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by fostering economic growth, alleviating poverty, creating full and productive employment and decent work for all”. Project Manager, Executive Director، Researcher of Cultural and Rural Tourism. new look at tourism, culture, and art
It's more than a tourist destination; it’s a platform to honor cultural diversity, showcasing the highest spiritual and material aspirations of various ethnicities. After all, culture stands as the unique identity of each ethnic group. the "Quad–Garden of Culture," an innovative endeavor uniting four continents through a rich blend of cultural, artistic, recreational, and tourism experiences. This project introduces a completely novel concept, housed in a green, vibrant, and eco-conscious environment, transcending urban complexities. The "Quad – Garden of Culture" embodies the spirit of preserving and honoring our cultural heritage. It’s an exploration of ancient traditions, culinary diversity, lifestyles, and customs—a journey into our ancestors’ ways. This gap calls for tangible action—a movement to protect, revive, and celebrate the diverse cultures and arts of nations globally, particularly their intangible cultural heritage. This complex not only offers an unparalleled experience but also pioneers a sustainable approach to tourism management, applying these principles in a real-world setting. I’m eager to collaborate with a European group to bring this project to life. #change #culture #art #tourism #sustainable #QuadGardenofCulture #development #culturalheritagetourism #intangibleheritage #internationaldevelopment #unesco #sustainabletourism #tourismhub #creativetourism #foodtourism #Ruraltourism #tourism4sdgs #innovation #gastronomy #futureisbright #CreativeTourism #sdgs2030 #impactinvesting #FutureofTourism #tourismdeclares.#internationalbusiness #Innovation #Creativity #regenerativetourism #investment #ideas #TurismoRESET #UNWTO #InvestinginPeople #planet #prosperity #culturaltourism #handicrafts #travel #tourismdeclares. #culturalheritagemanagement #futureoftourism #TheTourismSociety #WTTC #UNAgenda2030 #WNCAF #RedefiningTourism #CulturalRevival

Reconciling tourism and sustainability is not easy. Since Giovanni De Lazzari and I Patrizia Patti 🐳 founded EcoMarine Malta, our top priority has always been keeping our promise to our clients: to provide an educational and relaxing day in close contact with nature and its wonderful inhabitants. Our sustainable tours are not just about experiencing nature; they are also about raising awareness of the Mediterranean Sea. We believe enterprises like ours have a crucial role in advancing the triple bottom line of people, planet, and profit. We continue to uphold this promise every time we organize an outing, propose a team-building event, or offer a private tour. The path is uphill, but the rewards far outweigh the challenges. It’s incredibly gratifying to have people return year after year, sometimes even multiple times a year, recognizing our passion and dedication. They help us convey the message that tourism and conservation can coexist. #marinelifespotting #sustainabletourism #conservation #socialenterprise #malta
