The start of every successful therapeutic relationship begins with setting clear boundaries. ☝️ They make the client feel safe, and protect your time and energy. 👇 Here are a few more ways to ensure your time is spent working with people who you enjoy and who respect you: 💙 Get referrals from friends, family & clients you like: People who already love what you do and respect you will generally refer similar people to your practice. 💬 Set an initial consultation service for new clients: This sets the expectation that there will be more assessment time than a typical follow-up appointment. This is a great way to get to know each other and for you to confirm you’d like to treat this client. ⏳ Block extra time for new clients: Building a strong relationship takes time, so save extra time for conversation during that first session. The most powerful shift in my client relationships came when I stopped trying to fix everything. Let me explain. As healthcare professionals, we're trained to solve problems. To find solutions. To make things better. But Dr. Gabor Maté taught me something profound: "The attempt to escape from pain, is what creates more pain." This applies directly to client relationships. When we're constantly in "solution mode," we miss the subtle cues. The unspoken needs. The deeper concerns. I learned this firsthand in my early days of pediatric care: A mother came in, frustrated about her child's eating habits. My instinct was to jump straight into nutritional advice. But when I paused and truly listened, I discovered her real fear wasn't about the food - it was about failing as a mother. This revelation changed everything. Here's what I've learned about deepening client connections: 1. Start with yourself Take 10 minutes before client interactions to check in with your own emotional state. You can't attune to others if you're disconnected from yourself. 2. Create space for silence Don't rush to fill every gap in conversation. Often, the most important insights emerge in these quiet moments. 3. Listen for the story behind the story What's not being said? What emotions are present? The surface problem is rarely the real issue. 4. Acknowledge your own limitations Being authentic about what you don't know builds more trust than pretending to have all the answers. 5. Practice presence Put away the mental checklist. Your full attention is more valuable than any protocol. The irony? When we stop trying so hard to be the expert and instead focus on being present, our clients feel more supported, outcomes improve, and retention naturally follows. Your ability to connect with clients starts with your ability to connect with yourself. This isn't just theory - it's the foundation of sustainable healthcare relationships. What would change in your practice if you prioritized connection over correction? __________ 💡 React if this resonated. 💬 Comment to share your view. ♻️ Repost to benefit those in your network. ➕ Follow Jeannine Nel for more innovation content like this.

Building 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 is essential for success as an agent or advisor! ☝️ We recommend checking in quarterly with your existing clients, at minimum, and hosting at least one client appreciation event per year. 1. Acknowledge Their Need for Space When a patient expresses the need to think about a treatment or procedure, it’s essential to acknowledge their feelings. You might say, “I completely understand; it’s a big decision to make.” . 2. Provide Information, Not Pressure Instead of pushing for a quick decision, offer them additional resources or information that can help in their decision-making. For example: “Take your time to consider it. If you have any questions or need more information, feel free to reach out. I’m here to help you.” . 3. Reinforce Your Support Let them know that you’re on their side. A supportive comment like, “I want what’s best for you, and I’m here to assist you in making the right choice,” can go a long way in building trust. . 4. Schedule a Follow-Up without Pressure If appropriate, suggest a follow-up in a non-pushy manner: “Would it be okay if I check in with you next week? I want to ensure you have all the information you need to make the best decision for yourself.” . 5. Leave the Door Open Make it clear that they can come back to you anytime without feeling obligated. A simple statement like, “Whenever you’re ready, I’m just a call away,” emphasizes that their comfort is your priority. Key Takeaways . Respect Their Decision: Everyone processes information differently. Giving them time shows you respect their autonomy. . Be a Resource, Not a Salesperson: Focus on being informative rather than persuasive. This approach can lead to better patient relationships and trust. . Build Rapport: By offering support and understanding, you can strengthen the bond with your patients, encouraging them to feel comfortable returning when they’re ready. . . . . #respect #support #acknowledge #request #decision #patient #relationship #doctors #autonomy #trust #approach #happytoattend #ishantpahuja #digitalmarketing #HealthcareMarketing #clinic #hardsell
