Hey IT leaders in healthcare: A Proposed HIPAA Rule Would Require New Audit and Encryption Standards according to ACA International. There may also be restrictions on transferring electronic PHI to third parties, limiting it to information maintained within an electronic health record (EHR). I linked the article in the comments.
