The Close Protection Book - The Leading Publication on Close Protection’s Post

𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 - 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐞-𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐟 During my tenure as head of security for a former Forbes Top 10 businessman for 19 years, I made a firm point of debriefing after every single requirement. Whether that be the team or just myself and the driver or even just myself; I did not want to look back over my shoulder at any point and say, you know what, we could have done that better. Refining operational procedure and specific operational requirements (more often on the admin side for flights, business lounges, kit, arranging in-country local drivers and support and so on, should be an on-going procedure in its own right. Op Reports should be compiled after every single trip. The recording of team member details attending, additional services with POC/ office contact details, air handlers details, business schedule and any leisure activity conducted and so on, the entire trip recorded and stored securely in the cloud (pCloud). The reason? Next time the trip can be tweaked more easily, if need be. Daily de-briefs should also be conducted and as a TL, praise given to the team members were applicable. The joined up approach in solidifying CP operational delivery and a cohesive team all singing from the same song sheet of maximising standards. Life is no different. Constantly tweaking it to perfection, refining what is good and doing away with what (and who) is not. The result? Perfection (or as near to it as is possible!)
