As Woody from Toy Story reminds us, "Being there for a child is the most noble thing a toy can do." The same holds true for us as adults. Thank you to Toys for Tots for giving us the chance to support children in need and to our incredible team for their enthusiastic participation!

This simple, yet powerful statement, resonates deeply with us at Flow School Norway, where we believe that playing and truly connecting with children is the foundation of their mental wellbeing and holistic development. At Flow School, we prioritize creating spaces where parents and educators can build meaningful connections with children through play. Why? Because: 🌱 Play fosters emotional resilience: It helps children express emotions and build coping skills, laying the groundwork for a strong, balanced mental health. 🌱 Play strengthens bonds: Quality playtime is a way to truly listen and understand one another, creating deeper bonds that go beyond words. 🌱 Play ignites creativity and learning: When children are in a flow state with supportive adults, their natural curiosity flourishes, leading to rich learning experiences. 🌱 Play encourages empathy and social skills: Engaging in play teaches children about cooperation, sharing, and understanding others' perspectives. By investing in these playful, connected moments, we unlock the full potential of our children, paving the way for them to thrive in all aspects of life. Let’s take this young girl's wisdom to heart and prioritize play—because it is more than just fun; it is the key to everything we wish for our children. 💫 Thank you, The LEGO Foundation, for sharing this inspirational post as a great reminder for us all: 3, 2, 1..... Let's play!

4 Tips for Encouraging Independence in Your Child 🧩 As special needs moms, one of our greatest goals is helping our children develop independence at their own pace. Even small steps toward independence can boost their confidence and sense of self. Here are four ways to encourage independence, tailored to your child’s unique strengths and needs: Start with Simple, Everyday Tasks 🥣 Identify simple tasks your child can start practicing, such as brushing their teeth, setting the table, or putting on shoes. Break each task into smaller steps, and provide gentle guidance. Over time, these little achievements add up, building confidence along the way. Use Visual Cues or Step-by-Step Guides 📊 Many children respond well to visual aids. Consider using picture cards or charts that show each step of a task. For example, a “morning routine” chart might include brushing teeth, getting dressed, and eating breakfast. Visual cues offer structure and make tasks easier to understand. Offer Choices When Possible 🎨 Giving your child simple choices, like picking out clothes or choosing between snacks, empowers them to make decisions independently. Even small choices encourage decision-making skills and allow your child to feel a sense of control in their day. Celebrate Every Effort and Step Forward 🎉 Praise your child for their efforts, no matter how small. If they attempt something new or complete a task with help, recognize and celebrate it. Positive reinforcement boosts their motivation and reminds them (and you) that each step toward independence is a victory. Encouraging independence can feel slow, but each small step matters. Together, let’s share what has worked for our children and celebrate these milestones. Watching them grow, even gradually, is one of the most rewarding parts of our journey. 🌈 Follow us on social media for more updates and inspiring stories: • 🌍 My website: https://smpl.is/9peqn • 💌 Email: yourmomofspecialneeds@gmail.com • 🅿️ Paypal: https://smpl.is/9peqo • 📸 Instagram: https://smpl.is/9peqp • 📘 Facebook Group: https://smpl.is/9peqr • 📘 Facebook Page: https://smpl.is/9pequ • 👨🏻💻 LinkedIn: https://smpl.is/9peqq • 🐦 Twitter/X: https://smpl.is/9peqs • 🎵 Tiktok: https://smpl.is/9peqt • 🟢 Rumble: https://smpl.is/9peqv • 🔴 My Youtube: https://smpl.is/9peqw hashtag#SpecialNeedsParenting hashtag#SpecialNeedsMoms hashtag#CerebralPalsy hashtag#SupportMoms hashtag#MomOfSpecialNeeds hashtag#CommunityForMothers #MomOfSpecialNeeds #SpecialNeedsParenting #SupportCommunity #ParentingTips #Inspiration

Let's Celebrate! It's the first International Day of Play! June 11th, 2024 marks the very first International Day of Play, a day dedicated to celebrating the power of play in all our lives, but especially for children. Play isn't just about having a good time. It's fundamental to a child's development. Play heals through learning, life skills and psychosocial well-being. That’s why there must be investment into diverse, inclusive and safe play spaces, extending access to all, especially the most vulnerable and marginalised children. Through play, children: · Learn and grow intellectually · Build social skills and make friends · Develop resilience and emotional well-being · Explore their creativity and imagination · Stay healthy and active What can we do: ü Organize a game day in your neighborhood park or backyard. ü Talk to friends, family, and educators about the importance of play in children's lives. ü Use social media to create awareness towards the benefit of play for children. #We want a world where every child’s right to play is respected, protected and fulfilled.

Get ready to mark your calendars because June 11, 2024, is about to become the most playful day of the year! It's the very first International Day of Play! Did you know that even though the UN declared play a fundamental right for children back in 1989, only 30% of adults seem to know about it? Well, it's high time we remind everyone about the magic of play! That's where The LEGO Group and the LEGO Foundation come in, along with some other awesome people! They're leading the charge, saying how play can totally change lives and help children reach their full potential. They've even been hosting their own World Play Day for a couple of years now. But it's not just about LEGO. Everyone from the International Rescue Committee to Right to Play International is joining in. They're all saying the same thing: play is super important for learning and growing. Even though millions of children are missing out on playtime, we can still make a difference. Play isn't just fun; it's a game-changer for confidence, creativity, and building a brighter future. So, let's spread the word and get ready to party on June 11th! It's time to celebrate the power of play and ensure every child gets to shine. Who's with us at ORT SA CAPE? A crucial aspect of #learning is how it helps children build confidence and takes them through the process of decision making. A process of play allows them to gain #confidence in their abilities and learn the impact of their choices, fostering a sense of control and self-efficacy. Additionally, play encourages #social interaction, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, which are critical for developing #autonomy and #resilience. By engaging in play, children learn to navigate their environments and assert their individuality, laying the foundation for a proactive and empowered approach to life’s challenges. at Involve we have been thinking of integrating this aspect in the way kids learn. Thoughts?
