We're proud to share that #TeamCMB raised $3,500+ to go towards The AbleGamers Charity's mission of improving accessibility in the video game space, enabling more people with disabilities to be able to play video games and improve their quality of life by combatting social isolation and enhancing inclusivity. CMB's annual Pied for Purpose charitable campaign is a laugh-filled event that has quickly become a CMB tradition at our annual summer party. Our Adopted Chairty THE GAME is an incredible cause which addresses a deeply important and often overlooked topic. THE GAME portrays the physical and emotional challenges faced by families with a disabled and chronically ill parent, particularly when the child takes on the role of carer. The team has successfully raised £10,850 in their initial crowdfunding phase, which has funded basic production needs and helped forge vital partnerships with charities. This milestone also saw the birth of a supportive community, many of whom have personal connections to chronic illness. Now, they are embarking on the next critical phase of fundraising for: Post-production: Ensuring the film is completed to the highest standard. Accessibility: Providing additional measures to support disabled team members. Outreach: Bringing young carers onto the set to offer them a unique and enriching experience. Distribution: Facilitating community screenings and events with charity partners to maximize the film's impact. That's why Charitable Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs are becoming increasingly popular. These programs not only help boost team spirit and unity but also offer a chance to make a difference in the lives of less fortunate members of our community. TeamBonding has been delivering CSR programs since 2000, providing group bonding activities, games, and challenges that are designed to help assemble items for donation to local and national charities. The best part? TeamBonding has built long-lasting relationships with major philanthropic organizations to ensure that your donated items get to those groups you want to help most. Last week, in the lead-up to Wills Week (15th—21st July), we sat down with a reporter from The Press and a Specialist Trustee from the Public Trust to discuss how bequests, grants, and other donations make our work supporting and empowering people with intellectual disabilities a reality. While most of Kilmarnock’s income is generated through our contract work, “willanthropy”, when a monetary gift is bequested in a will, and other donations and grants make up a vital part of our revenue. The revenue we receive from bequests, donations, and grants enables us to invest in our training and development programmes, which include on-the-job upskilling, health and wellbeing, and formal training opportunities. Through these programmes, we empower people with intellectual disabilities to lead rewarding, meaningful and self-determined lives. However, there have also been times in our history when bequests, donations, and grants have meant the difference between remaining open or being forced to shut down during periods of reduced availability of contract work. The Public Trust runs Wills Week annually to raise awareness and draw attention to the importance of wills. It also seeks to encourage people to consider the impact they can create when they leave a bequest to a community or charitable organisation such as Kilmarnock Enterprise in their will. You can read the full article about the impact of “willanthropy” for Kilmarnock Enterprises from The Press here - https://lnkd.in/dHXHQqCR

With high levels of autism and neurodiversity in STEM education, and the resulting social anxiety and lack of understanding of networking, many highly qualified students in STEM struggle after graduation and organizations like Aspiritech are needed... however, we need STEM employers and industries to also examine how prevalent autism and neurodivergence is in their workplaces too and how this population contributes to their success. To remove the stigma of autism and neurological variations among people we must generate data and make this population visible and appreciated while also learning to accommodate differences that matter to people's lives and their physical and mental health. #autismSTEM #autismacceptance #autismworkplaces #autismSTEMindustry #makeautismvisible #engineeringeducation #stemeducation #techindustryinsights

National Development Manager at Toy Libraries Australia, and Senior Consultant (Occupational Therapist) at Franklyn Work Safety
It's not sexy. For lots of volunteer committees it can feel like a burden. For many starting out in the world of volunteer governance it can be quite frightening and overwhelming. But good governance is so important to ensure the sustainable future of our toy libraries. It has been super exciting to see all the toy libraries who have pulled on their big kid pants and sorted out their ACNC registration, the passion of our toy library community should never be underestimated. I am super proud to work for a peak body who provides practical support to enable volunteers to develop their understanding and mastery of good governance. If we want to bring more good people into the board rooms of Australia maybe we should all be looking to invest more in the good people who are already delivering on good governance right now in volunteer roles right across the country?
Good governance is key to helping toy libraries thrive. We're excited to share that over 85 toy libraries are now registered as charities, thanks to our work with the ACNC. This means they’re better equipped to serve their communities, attract support, and continue bringing joy to families. Strong governance isn’t just about rules—it’s about making a bigger impact together. A special thank you to our Victoria Member Development Officer, Erin Krusic-Golub, for her incredible work in guiding the latest round of registrations.
