In life's next season to focus on growing to become my best self and doing the things that matter. "When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy." ~ Rumi
Does this describe your current situation? How do you know you are in the wrong place? Think of P.L.A.C.E. ■ People - There is no team-fit. ■ Leader - The leader you are working for is toxic (overly demanding, micromanaging, does not respect your need for work-life balance or boundaries, etc.) ■ Activity - You are often assigned work that does not align with your skills-sets and talents ■ Culture - There is no alignment between your personal values and your employer's values ■ Environment - The atmosphere you work in is stifling or draining, affects your mental well-being, does not promote a growth mindset, etc. What else would you add to what constitutes a "wrong place"? #whatinspiresme #personaldevelopment #careers #work

All successful people failed ( or needed a lot of tryouts) more than one actually expected. Who hasn’t land in a place like this? Funny that I remember seeing an Audi sports car in one of Male streets, the capital of Maldives, which consists of only 3.2 square miles/ 8.3 square kms. How often people get hired by someone less skilled and experienced just to be told what to do and given no chance to contribute to the project? Why still the managers who hire mid levels see then as threats? If the road is there why not let the powerful car ride it? Then the whole team wins not just the pilot! Also playing favorites is a teams killer. Promoting people that no one understands why. A promotion should be an example of good performance and a sign of alignment for the right direction. Hence should be clear and somehow expected. Another exemple, when riding the waves of success and not celebrating with the team. What does that say about the organization? A candidate should seriously consider to call for a employers recommendation as well. Bad toxic companies should be discarded even if the job offer seems to good to refuse. There no free lunches. If someone asks you about some company that you have worked for and wouldn’t go back, then plainly do someone a favour and be honest about and why. Thank you Bernard.

You can’t use a Lamborghini or Porsche on rough terrain. A SUV or ATV is needed. Fit is key in any situation. Leadership, team fit, work on hand, culture, surroundings all must be viable and optimal. What do you do if the situation is inappropriate? Do you move on? Do you adapt? Thanks Bernard Low, PhD for the insight. #inovativtinktank #leadership

When Balancing Work and Life, Results Matter We can't be so focused on freedom and autonomy that we forget the "work" in work-life balance. If you are lucky enough to be your own boss, it's crucial to hold yourself accountable to your professional goals. Remember, the hours you do or do not put in aren't as important as the results you achieve. Focus on productivity, not just time spent. Take ownership, stay committed, stay balanced, and prioritize results. #WorkLifeBalance #Productivity #Leadership #Goals Spartan Capital Group SHRM Detroit SHRM Pinnacle Senior Staffing Spartan Strategies

🚦 The Art of Saying "No" at Work 🚦 In the fast-paced corporate world, we often find ourselves at a crossroads where 'yes' seems like the only green light. But what if I told you that 'no' is not a stop sign, but rather a navigation tool? 🧭 Saying 'no' might feel like swimming against the tide, but here's the kicker: 1️⃣ Quality Over Quantity: When we stretch ourselves too thin, we're giving less of ourselves to more. Prioritizing tasks ensures excellence where it counts. 🔍 2️⃣ Respect Your Time: Your time is your most valuable asset. Invest it wisely. ⏳ 3️⃣ Set Healthy Boundaries: 'No' can protect your well-being and prevent burnout. It's not just self-care, it's career care. 🛡️ 4️⃣ Empower Others: A strategic 'no' can open doors for team members to step up and shine. It's delegation, not just denial. ✨ Let’s remember, 'no' isn't negative, it's a strategic decision that fosters a sustainable and productive work culture. Have you mastered the art of saying 'no'? Share your thoughts! 👇 LinkedIn #Leadership #Productivity #WorkCulture #BoundarySetting #LinkedIn
