Today's member spotlight is the ardent Emily Moore! Emily is a passionate and driven self-starter with a deep commitment to making a positive impact in her community. From a young age, she has always set her sights on achieving meaningful change. Emily attended Fayetteville-Manlius High School, where she played on the two-time lacrosse state championship team and competed as a downhill ski racer, even qualifying for the Junior Olympics. She continued her athletic and academic journey at SUNY Brockport, where she played lacrosse and studied communications. Emily went on to get her CASAC-T certification. Naturally competitive, Emily thrives on challenges and constantly seeks opportunities to learn and grow. Currently, Emily serves as the Director of the Central Region Prevention Resource Center, where she oversees the provision of technical assistance and training to coalitions and providers across thirteen counties in New York State. Her focus is on primary prevention and environmental change strategies within the community. Emily was recently promoted to manage a team of six community educators at the Onondaga Council on Alcoholism and Addictions, known as Prevention Network (Onondaga Council on Alcoholism and Addcitions). In her new role, she will be responsible for coordinating prevention services, community education, parenting support, information services, and marketing efforts within the organization. Emily is excited about the opportunity to forge new connections and build lasting relationships within the community. With six years of experience in the non-profit sector, she brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to her work. In addition to her professional achievements, Emily recently joined the Board of Directors of Devin’s Rec Room, a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering a supportive community of physically active individuals committed to sober living. Devin’s Rec Room offers a space for those with 48 consecutive hours or more of sobriety to engage in physical activities, harnessing the transformative power of movement and exercise in the recovery process. Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending her summer weekends on Sandy Pond, Lake Ontario, with her fiancé, or playing golf—a sport she recently took up. During the winter, she can often be found on the slopes. She is also in the midst of planning her wedding, set to take place this May. Emily’s life is a testament to her dedication to personal growth, community service, and creating a positive impact wherever she goes. Join us in congratulating Emily on today's member spotlight!
