Cocoon has successfully engaged Global Management Certification Services, a distinguished ISO certification body, in a comprehensive audit process spanning the last few months. Under the expert leadership of our National Manager, Pranay, our objective was to attain ISO 9001 accreditation, reaffirming Cocoon's dedication to maintaining a Quality Management System that aligns with global compliance standards relevant to our organisational goals. The audit, conducted in two distinct scopes, focused on: 1. Ensuring the delivery of safe and individualised quality services for People with Disabilities: - Upholding principles of integrity, privacy, and confidentiality. - Facilitating participant independence in strict accordance with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Framework. 2. Taking proactive measures to prevent various forms of harm: - Specifically addressing and preventing violence, exploitation, neglect, sexual misconduct, and abuse against people with disabilities. - Adhering to the standards outlined in the NDIS code of conduct. Achieving ISO 9001 accreditation signifies more than just compliance with NDIS standards; it underscores Cocoon's commitment to achieving and maintaining international quality benchmarks. Looking ahead, our responsibility is to maintain this accreditation with ongoing surveillance conducted by the certification body. This continuous scrutiny will guarantee that Cocoon's Quality Management System complies with ISO 9001 standards. #CocoonSDACare #ISO9001 #QualityManagement #NDIS #Compliance

I am currently in the process of creating a Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture Toolkit to use alongside my current audits when completing mock inspections and I have spent my morning reading through around 35 CQC reports, mainly focusing on those who are rated Requires Improvement. At times it is like reading the same reports over and over, providers not meeting the principles of RSRCRC in very similar ways particularly; ❌ People not being supported to partake in social activities that are important to them ❌ The environment not meeting or being person-centered to people's needs ❌ People's communication needs not being met ❌ Support plans not being up to date, and not including person-centered information on people's needs ❌ People not being given the opportunity to be involved in creating their own support plans ❌ Responsibility and accountability arrangements being unclear ❌ Staff not being aware of organisational vision and values It is interesting to see where providers do not meet these basic principles, and provides some food for thought. I always do find it beneficial to read other CQC reports to see areas where some people may be excelling, and areas which some people may need to improve as find this very beneficial to learn lessons from other providers and to use when auditing the services I am responsible for auditing against such benchmarks. #CQC #Regulation #RSRCRC

Kirin Kalsi, Kandarp Thakar and Tom Littlechild expertly rounding off today’s conference sessions with a panel discussion on ‘Placing Organisational Reputation at the Heart of Legal Decision-Making,’ moderated by Olga V. Mack. 🧠 They discussed the legal team’s role as a moral compass of an organisation and how legal and reputational risk should be seen as one and the same. Key takeaways from the session: 👉 Having a culture of speaking out where people have the psychological safety to raise concerns about reputational risk is crucial 👉 Managing reputation is a team sport – it’s important to build relationships of trust within departments 👉 Doing the right thing and alignment with company values should be built into company-wide performance reviews 👉 Ask yourself: Do you want this on the front page of the Daily Mail? If not, you may want to rethink that decision An inspiring end to today’s seminar programme – we can’t wait to see what’s in store for tomorrow! 🎉 #CCCE #corporatecounsel #compliance #inhouselegal #legalevents #networking #CCCUK

In their April 2024 Update to the VET sector, ASQA published the following advice: “...In addition, a key provision within the recent changes to the Fit and Proper Person Requirements includes that the requirements now extend beyond CEOs and high managerial agents to apply to any person who exercises a degree of control or influence over the management or direction of the RTO. On this basis, providers must consider this broader focus in their recruitment of key staff, **including trainers and assessors**, and have systems in place to ensure that all key staff remain ‘fit and proper’ at all times…” This session does not aim to unpack the changes to the FPPRs, but rather, to provide discussion for RTO owners, managers and key personnel on: 💡Strategic considerations for the changes to the FPPRs 💡Practical implementation considerations 💡Considerations for sustaining compliance Offered to support the VET sector, this event is offered as complimentary registration for the live session: https://lnkd.in/g66nd78M #SkillsEducation #fitandproperpersonrequirements #standards #rtos #strategicview
