Revenue Growth Expert | GTM Leader | Advisor & Consultant for Small Businesses, Pre-Seed to Series C startups
Friday my ego got the best of me… My company changed leadership and my CMO left the company. Leaving me and the marketing team. And I found out they’re hiring a new CMO. (Rather quickly) I wasn’t considered for the role. I’m a very experienced marketer and have led teams in several different sized companies. And I have to admit, I let my ego take hold. It felt like I wasn’t enough. And I had to walk through all the feelings that come with that. Then I talked myself down. I’m enough. And I can’t expect everyone to know my worth. I’m new. I’m untested in the company and I’m not sure I would be the best fit for the role in this company anyways. After nursing my ego back to a smaller size, I decided to shut up. I decided to keep showing up. And if I found I wasn’t enough for this company after investing all of me, then I’d go find a company (or create my own) where my skills, talents, expertise and knowledge would be appreciated and taken seriously. I know that if I don’t show up and show my skills, the roles I want won’t suddenly be given to me. I also know, I’m worthy. And it’s okay to wrestle with ego. So long as kindness, doing the right thing, continuous learning, and positivity prevail. How do you deal with your ego? #marketingleadership #gtmleaders

Fractional COO | former VC | community leader | embracing #joy #discovery #connection to its fullest
"You should probably take that leap of faith." from Sahil Bloom's Curiosity Chronicle newsletter from today. "In my experience, regret from inaction is always more painful than regret from action. Further, you tend to underestimate the degree to which the leap of faith is reversible. If you leave your traditional job to build your own thing and it fails, chances are you can go back to a traditional job (and with the valuable entrepreneurial experience in your new toolkit). Reframe it as a real world MBA. Don't worry about making the perfect decision. Make a decision, then make it perfect through your actions." This hits home. Jumping into the world of fractional consulting is downright scary. ❌ No guaranteed paycheck ❌ You end up paying for your & your family's benefits ❌ You don't get paid for taking vacation time ❌ You're now the one that pays the 8% employer tax (yes, really) ❌ You need to find your own clients -- *gasp* (and a few of them too!) ❌ You have to juggle client workload, biz dev & sales, back-office (payroll, taxes), and more. And you need to manage your own psyche while doing it all But what if you couldn't imagine doing anything else? And you took that leap of faith? And came out much happier and fulfilled? What if you stayed ambitious and figured out a way to make even more than you were making before? What if you can't imagine doing anything differently in 5, 10 or maybe even 20 years? This is how both my business partner Garrett Kelly and I feel today. Should you jump in? Should you not? Join this session below and get more informed. And maybe you'll walk away with a little inspiration! 🥳

CMO at Dashly: Empowering Companies for Growth. Over 700 Partners & Counting: Driving Impact and More. Elevating Marketers to Achieve 30% More Qualified Leads and Cutting Sales & Support Workloads by 23%
With 2023 coming to the end, I start to look back more often. Stepping into the CMO role, for instance. It was tough. The team was reshaping the processes, diving into our main project of this year — growth marketing content hub. All new kind of work, with new strategies and tools. The results were way lower than we expected. And each decision I made seemed to add more chaos. Too many blind spots, too much uncertainty. I wasn’t used to it on my previous position. But now? The system of weekly reports show us how we’re doing, help make decisions and set benchmarks. Getting though the chaos was hard. But looking back, it only makes me prouder of what we achieved as a team. Sometimes you need a bit of disorder to really appreciate the order you create. #TeamGrowth #MarketingSuccess

One of our marketing projects💖 Creativelab Managers role in marketing team 1. Leadership - The ability to inspire and guide individuals or teams to achieve organizational goals. 2. Decision-Making - The ability to make informed and timely decisions, balancing risks and opportunities. 3. Communication - The ability to convey information clearly and effectively, both within the organization and externally. 4. Problem-Solving - The ability to identify problems, analyze them, and develop solutions that are effective and sustainable.

Here’s an idea. If one of the founders of a company calls themselves the CMO because they owned marketing early and then they realize they need a real experienced marketing leader to grow then you can’t go backwards and make that role a VP of Marketing hire. Shows zero faith and belief in marketing and dents the credibility and trust of that organization. #cantgobackwards

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐚 Marketing has always been about 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆. But in today's hyper-competitive landscape, finding the right people to craft those connections is becoming increasingly challenging. It's not just about filling a vacant marketing role; it's about finding the creative spark, the strategic mind, and the digital wizardry to drive brand growth. Think about the iconic ad campaigns, the viral social media sensations, or the groundbreaking product launches that have shaped industries. Behind each of these successes was a team of talented individuals. When key marketing positions remain unfilled, it's not just a setback; it's 𝐚 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 to create the next big thing. The marketingverse is in the midst of a talent crisis. The rapid evolution of technology, changing consumer behaviors, and the rise of data-driven strategies have created a demand for 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫. Finding, hiring, and retaining these individuals is a complex puzzle that requires innovative solutions. To address this challenge, companies must invest in employee development, foster a culture of innovation, and leverage data to identify and attract top talent. Partnerships with educational institutions can also help build a pipeline of future marketing leaders. Prioritize talent acquisition and retention: 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠-𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 in an increasingly competitive marketplace. #cmo #leadership

Accepting Q4 Clients in September | Ai, social media, genZ, creator, algorithm consultant & analyst | founder + ceo flora by fana & @here2help | Ai workflow adviser | keynote speaker | currently in 🇪🇷
what we can learn about executive comms in 2024 from Mark Zuckerberg’s comms team: 1. leverage your own social channels: if you have something to say, you can now go direct to consumer leveraging your personal brand and social channels 2. watch a news cycle closely: in this case meta closely watched Apple Vision Pro reviews and chatter across socials 3. think of the unique pov you have to offer: in this case Mark is positioning his company as a direct competitor to apple (el o l) and that Quest is the best value product and that Quest represents and Open model whereas apple remains closed. 4. news is now driven by social: news now moves at the speed of social (vs the reverse case 10 years ago) taking his message to publishers like morning brew for an exclusive interview that came together in a span of 1-2 days reflects the speed at which news cycles move today 5. net-net. invest in building your brand and having a strong following on socials. you don’t need to depend on media to get your message across. media is now a tool to amplify your brand message. with an informed perspective, fana https://lnkd.in/gMiekvpG
