Check out notable features of three recently completed or recently commissioned paths for cyclists below: 🚲𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗙𝟭𝟬𝟱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗟𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗴𝗶𝘂𝗺 - About 36 km (22 miles) long - Involved the construction of two bike tunnels and nine bike bridges - Provides an attractive alternative to car transportation for the region 🚲𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗲̀𝘁𝗲, 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 - 2.6 km (about 1.5 miles) of bike path - Featuring a trial section of Colas’ solution Colstab Ostrea, an attractive and durable pavement suited for soft mobility options that combats urban heat islands and incorporates recycled crushed oyster shells - Built using 700 metric tons of asphalt mix, including 150 metric tons of Raincol, a permeable asphaltic concrete developed by Colas that helps combat soil sealing and reduces flood risk 🚲𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝘁𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗰 𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 - Two cycle paths with a surface area of 1,000 m² each, to be equipped with Colas’ Wattway technology - The challenge set by the provinces is for Wattway to produce 160 MWh/year of renewable energy in its first year for the Dutch grid - Responds to the complex challenge of producing renewable energy despite limited land #CreatingConnections #WeOpenTheWay #ColasCares
