‘To understand what #packaging is best for a business, it is important to look at the scenario holistically,’ says Adam Holliefield, Director of Cold Brew Operations at Coffee Support Co. ‘One must start at the #production level but then dive into every factor like storage capabilities, #distribution efficiency, cost of materials, use of the material, labour costs, waste, and ease-of-use, to name a few. ‘...a company should make an educated decision for the specific material that fits their scenario best.’ https://lnkd.in/eanht_Cx #coldbrew #coldbrewpacking #coffeeroaster

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED🤔 WHY SOFT Drink Bottles Are Never Flat At The BOTTOM? THERE’S A FASCINATING SCIENCE🧪🔬 Behind It! Soft drinks contain carbon dioxide (CO2), which exerts pressure inside the bottle. If these bottles had flat bottoms, the pressure from the gas would be more challenging to manage. The spiked or corrugated bottom design we see today is meant to handle this internal pressure effectively. When a soft drink is cooled, its volume changes, and the gases inside can expand. The spiked design provides flexibility for the bottle to adjust to these volume changes, ensuring it doesn't deform or burst under pressure. This bottom structure is also tighter than the top, allowing the bottle to withstand high pressure with ease. Interestingly, the history of cold drinks goes back centuries. The first marketed soft drink was lemonade, sold by the Compagnie de Limonadiers in 1676. Carbonated beverages as we know them today were perfected in 1780 when Johann Jacob Schweppe developed a method for manually carbonating water. Next time you pick up a soft drink, remember, the design is not just aesthetic but crucial for maintaining the integrity of your fizzy refreshment! Stay Updated! Revolutionizing Coffee Processing for Sustainability. The washing of fermented coffee is a crucial yet resource-intensive step in wet processing. In regions like Colombia, traditional washing channels consume substantial water and pose environmental challenges. Recognizing this, we made a strategic shift twelve years ago to semi-washed processing, reducing water waste and environmental impact significantly. By adopting semi-washed processing, we've unlocked a range of benefits. This method, also known as pulp natural or honey processing, minimizes water usage while preserving the bean's intrinsic flavors and characteristics. Our experience has shown that this approach enhances attributes like body structure and aftertaste, especially beneficial for beans with nuanced profiles. Our commitment to sustainability extends to innovative practices like starter culture-controlled fermentation, producing microbial metabolites that enrich coffee flavors. Our lineup includes unique varieties such as Beer Washed, Orange Washed, Semi Washed ALE, and Semi Washed Wine. These processes, where the parchment acts as a filter, enable precise fermentation control and superior flavor development. Join us in revolutionizing coffee processing for a sustainable future. Let's embrace methods that preserve flavor integrity while minimizing environmental impact. #SustainableCoffee #SemiWashedProcessing #FlavorInnovation #EnvironmentalResponsibility
