Is there hope for transformation after an affair? In a compelling third episode of the Arc of Love series, it began with a passionate affair, resulting in the dissolution of two marriages. The two lovers then entered new relationships but continued to engage in infidelity with each other. Eventually, they embarked on a relationship together, where they faced challenges of mutual betrayal. As they now strive to rebuild trust, I guide them towards confronting brutal truths about themselves. EPISODE IS LIVE! In this snippet we joke that "guilt is a great motivator." As funny as it may sound, this is scientifically true, and after reading more about in "Influence" by Robert B. Cialdini I now understand why it works so well. If you've ever read the book the Go Giver, you'll see this in action. When you give to people, earnestly, you'll always receive in spades. It may not feel like it in the beginning, but speaking from experience, it always pays to be a person seen as a consummate giver. Everyone will "owe" you, and be working to "pay you back" in some way. That makes your asks that much more likely to get answered. So, this conversation about legacy took many different turns, and I cannot stress enough how much of a necessary listen is for anyone who is currently thinking about their own legacy, or even how to show up more intentionally in the world.
