Medical Doctor | Postgraduate Trainee in Biomedical Informatics | Passionate about AI and Data Science in Health Care | Teacher in Advanced Level Biology
Software engineering and health care are two fields that I am passionate about. Software engineering is the discipline of applying systematic and rigorous methods to design, develop, test, and maintain software systems that solve real-world problems. Health care is one of the most important and complex domains where software engineering can make a positive difference. Software engineering can help improve health care in many ways, such as: - Enhancing the quality and safety of care delivery, by reducing errors, increasing efficiency, and facilitating communication and coordination among health care providers and patients. - Supporting clinical decision making, by providing access to relevant and reliable information, data analysis, and decision support tools. - Enabling innovation and research, by creating new solutions, devices, and methods that advance the state of the art in health care and biomedicine. - Empowering patients and consumers, by giving them more control and choice over their health and wellness, and providing them with personalized and engaging services and applications. Some of the software engineering projects that can be the future of health are: - Clinical decision support systems (CDSS) - Telemedicine and mobile health (mHealth) - Artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) Eager to learn more about this field, and to collaborate with other software engineers and health care professionals who share the same vision.

✅ Trusted Data Partner for startups | 🚀 Growth centric Data Strategist |🎯 Results driven Leadership | Problem solver for startups
Following my recent post about the dynamism and learning opportunities that Gen Z data engineers bring to the table, I received an overwhelming number of DMs. Many of you expressed interest in hiring Gen Z talent but shared a common challenge: making your offers appealing to them. So, here’s my perspective based on what I've learned from working with Gen Z data engineers: Autonomy: This generation isn't content with just executing orders. They value having the authority to make decisions in their roles, craving creative and strategic input in their tasks. Impactful Work: Gen Z seeks roles where they can visibly impact the company. They desire assurance that their work, be it in coding, design, or client interaction, significantly contributes to organizational goals. Freedom and Trust: They prefer environments without micromanagement, emphasizing mutual trust and transparency. This respect is crucial for them to feel engaged and valued. To attract and retain Gen Z data engineering talent, it’s essential to understand and cater to these preferences. Creating a work culture that offers autonomy, impact, and trust can make your organization a desirable place for Gen Z professionals. By embracing these values, you not only attract innovative minds but also foster a culture of growth and mutual learning. #genz #DataEngineering #CareerAdvice #WorkplaceCulture

Senior Software Engineer @ Tkxel | Growing companies with strategic engineering & customized tech solutions
The Data Balancing Act requires some key considerations. (Want to know what those are?) Here are the key considerations in the Data Balancing Act: ✅ Regular Audits: Keep a watchful eye on your redundant data. Regular audits ensure that the duplicates are aligned and harmonized, reducing the risk of corruption. ✅Synchronization Protocols: Establish robust synchronization protocols to maintain consistency across redundant sets. This ensures that updates in one instance seamlessly reflect in others. ✅Purposeful Redundancy: Define the purpose of redundancy. Is it for backup, accessibility, or both? A clear objective guides the strategic implementation of redundancy. ✅Educate Stakeholders: Ensure that everyone involved understands the importance of maintaining the delicate balance. Education is the key to preventing unintentional missteps. REPOST ♻ to help fellow engineers. --- I am Bilal M. - A Senior Software Engineer. I grow companies with #engineering & #tech solutions. Several clients of a small envirotech company based in Melbourne had requested significant upgrades to the technology. But without a budget to hire software developers, the CTO turned to GitHub's Copilot to assist with coding. The productivity of the tech team is now 30-40% higher using GenAI, with better quality output, and happy clients. For a while, the senior leadership team wasn't aware GenAI was being used. Fortunately, it all turned out well but might not have been such a happy ending. Having a company policy in place for using GenAI at work is essential. More than just protocols, a policy should convey values and principles, how it aligns to strategic objectives...and signals leadership buy-in. More broadly, I expect this will be the initial impact of AI on jobs - hiring freezes.

💭 7 Reasons why you should consider working for a start-up 💭 Are you ready to embark on a professional adventure filled with innovation, creativity, and unparalleled growth? Working for a start-up might just be the key to unlocking a world of exciting opportunities. 1️⃣ Diverse Responsibilities: Start-ups are often characterized by their lean teams and fast-paced environments. This means wearing multiple hats and taking on diverse responsibilities. This not only broadens your skill set but also provides a unique chance to explore different facets of business, enhancing your adaptability and problem-solving skills. 2️⃣ Rapid Learning Curve: In the dynamic landscape of a startup, change is constant. This environment fosters a rapid learning curve as you find yourself at the forefront of industry trends and cutting-edge technologies. Working closely with entrepreneurial minds can be inspiring and contagious. It cultivates an innovative mindset, encouraging you to think outside the box and contribute to the company's growth with your own unique ideas. 4️⃣ Visibility and Impact: In larger corporations, it can be challenging to stand out among a sea of employees. However, at a startup, your contributions are more visible, and the impact of your work is often felt immediately. This visibility not only boosts your confidence but also opens doors to new opportunities and career advancement. 5️⃣ Building a Network: Start-ups often operate in tight-knit communities. Working for one gives you the chance to build a strong professional network early in your career. Connections made in the start-up world can lead to collaborations, partnerships, or even future entrepreneurial ventures. 6️⃣ Stock Options and Equity: Many start-ups offer employees stock options or equity as part of their compensation packages. This means you have the potential to share in the company's success and financial growth. As the start-up succeeds, so do you, creating a direct link between your efforts and the company's prosperity. 7️⃣ Innovative Work Culture: Start-ups are known for their dynamic and innovative work cultures. Will #Devin Threaten Software Engineering #Jobs? While Devin represents a significant leap in automation, it doesn’t necessarily spell doom for human software developers. Here’s why: Complementary Role: Devin can handle repetitive tasks, but it lacks the creativity, intuition, and context-awareness that #humanengineers bring. Human-#AI collaboration is likely to be more productive than an outright replacement. Complex Problem Solving: #Softwareengineering involves intricate problem-solving, design decisions, and understanding user needs. These aspects require human judgment and creativity, which Devin cannot fully replicate. In summary, Devin’s emergence highlights the evolving landscape of software engineering. Rather than fearing job displacement, we should view it as an opportunity for collaboration and innovation. Human engineers will continue to play a crucial role, while #AItools like Devin enhance productivity and efficiency.
