Day 10 of the Hilton Top Solicitors internship program saw us delve into the captivating world of cybersecurity with the eloquent Uzo Mkparu HCIB at the helm. Buckle up, because we're about to embark on a journey to safeguard the digital realm! Mrs.Uzo painted a clear picture of cybersecurity: a shield against digital threats aimed at disrupting operations, stealing data, and causing mayhem. These threats, often wielded by unauthorized users, can wreak havoc on networks, systems, and programs. Our exploration didn't stop there. Mrs.Uzo unveiled the diverse arsenal of cyber attackers, from phishing scams designed to trick unsuspecting victims, to malware that infiltrates systems like a digital Trojan horse, and even denial-of-service attacks that aim to overwhelm targets with a barrage of information. But fear not, for Mrs.Uzo also equipped us with the defensive tools in our cyber arsenal. We discovered the power of antivirus and anti-malware solutions, the watchful eye of Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and the vigilant Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) that sound the alarm when suspicious activity is detected. The session concluded with a fascinating insight: the ever-evolving landscape of technology, especially the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), demands a dynamic approach to legal expertise. This means lawyers must constantly adapt and innovate to safeguard their clients in the ever-changing digital landscape. Overall, this session at Hilton Top Solicitors was an eye-opening experience, empowering us to understand the complexities of cybersecurity and the crucial role lawyers play in protecting the digital world. We left equipped with knowledge and awareness, ready to face the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in this dynamic field. Thank you Deborah Enyone Oni (LLB. BL. LLM. NIM) for this wonderful opportunity. #FinTech #EmergingTech #EmergingTechLawyer #Internship #Mentorship #Women empowerment #Htsfvimp

I am happy to announce that I have completed the Clifford Chance Virtual Internship on Cyber Security on Forage. I completed the Virtual Internship as part of the LW222 module taught by Dr David Cowan FRSA. The Virtual Internship offers valuable insights into the world of technology and law. It also showcases ways to improve one's legal writing, legal research, and critical analysis to a professional standard. In the simulation, I: Completed the Clifford Chance job simulation where I assisted various clients with legal issues relating to cyber breaches. Provided guidance about responding to an ICO Dawn Raid to the managing partner of a rapidly growing online travel company. Assisted a major e-commerce business to notify stakeholders about a data breach in accordance with the GDPR. Formulated defensive strategies for a client with data centre operations to appropriately respond to a data breach. Check out the simulation here: https://lnkd.in/dKGXMugX

🔐 Excited to Share My Latest Achievement! 🔐 I have successfully completed Project 1 of my Cyber Internship with Pinnacle Labs, diving deep into the world of text encryption using DES, AES, and RSA techniques. 🛡️ DES (Data Encryption Standard): A symmetric-key algorithm known for its simplicity and speed, DES encrypts data in fixed-size blocks, providing a solid foundation for understanding the basics of encryption. 🛡️ AES (Advanced Encryption Standard): Recognized for its robust security, AES is a symmetric-key algorithm that encrypts data in 128, 192, or 256-bit keys. Its efficiency and security make it a widely adopted encryption standard. 🛡️ RSA (Rivest-Shamir-Adleman): An asymmetric encryption technique, RSA utilizes a pair of keys (public and private) for secure data transmission. Its ability to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity makes it a cornerstone of modern cryptography. This project has significantly enhanced my understanding of encryption technologies and their real-world applications. I look forward to applying these skills in future cybersecurity challenges. #CyberSecurity #Encryption #DES #AES #RSA #PinnacleLabs #Internship #LearningJourney
