Google's streamlining its Assistant by trimming down features. Over the next few weeks, we'll see at least 17 "underutilized" functions being phased out. This is all about focusing on what's most popular and useful for us. For instance, there will be no more playing audiobooks via voice on Google Play Books. But don't worry, Google's suggesting alternative ways to do these tasks. While some features won't have direct substitutes, there are creative workarounds such as using YouTube. The big change started yesterday. Most of these updates are expected to be in place by February 26. And that's not all… Google's also tweaking its mobile app. The microphone icon will now lead to search results, rather than supporting certain Assistant actions. This update extends to Pixel phones as well, affecting how the search bar functions. Feeling a bit surprised by these changes? Google wants to hear from you. Just say, "Hey Google, send feedback," and share your thoughts. Remember, in business and technology, adaptation is key. Staying up-to-date and flexible is what keeps us ahead. Imagine this... You have collected a number of downloads, blog posts, e-books and slide decks on a subject you want to learn about or you're researching. If you're like me, you may have a plan (or at least an intention) to go through them, make notes and invest the time in learning. But, it's a lot to read, life is busy and inevitably it ends up as a curated list that you might get round to one day.
